  Good location and quirky but make sure you read the fine print

  This is a place you will love, or, maybe not. What other reviews and the B&B site itself fail to say is there is only the clawfoot bath, no shower. Unless you are confident getting in and out of the deep bath you will be unable to bathe. Also the breakfast package is simply some small packets of cereal, a loaf of bread with some jam, vegemite and honey, coffee and fruit juice drink. While the place was basically clean, it certainly could do with a good spring clean and a lot of tlc -- I doubt the fire extinguishers had been checked since 2012

  Step back in time

  We stayed here in April. Had the 'Yellow Room' with fireplace, claw foot bath with hand held shower head and veranda to sit out in the sun. We felt as though we had stepped back to a time when things were a little slower. We enjoyed everything, the bed was comfortable, the fire was delightful sitting in front of with a glass of wine. The breakfast was all that was needed, cereal, toast, long life juice, and fruit. We were pleasantly surprised to find a tea pot and tea leaves and also a coffee pot with ground coffee. The room was clean but could have done with the cobwebs brushed down. The garden requires a lot of maintenance, the trees and shrubs have covered the sign so finding 'The Manse' was only found as I had seen the photos on the Trip Advisor site. I would certainly recommend this quirky stay and whenever I'm back in Daylesford I will surely stay again.

  Good location and slice of Daylesford history

  The Manse would have been a grand old mansion in its "hey day", but is now a little well worn. The rooms are clean and include a continental breakfast basket and tea making facilities, but, as the other reviews state, only a hand held shower over the bath and an old fashioned toilet in a corner alcove. The heating unfortunately, did not extend to the rooms and the fan heater really was not adequate to warm the room in late May. Would be wonderful with a total refurbishment inside and out.

  Another outstanding stay

  Our 5th time celebrating our anniversary at the Manse and another wonderful stay. This hotel has so much character and the open fire and double person claw tub are such a treat. Bring your Lush goodies! Helen spoilt us with a gorgeous bottle of bubbly in the fridge, not to mention all the other little treats, choccies on the bed and tub, yummy biccies, sherry etc. And the location is perfect, an easy stroll to the high street.

  We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Daylesford!

  An absolutely marvelous experience! From the moment we were shown the gorgeous "yellow room" by our delightful host Helen til our departure, we were so glad that we decided to stay here. Everything was clean, warm, and exceptionally welcoming. We felt as though we stepped through a mirror and had taken a trip back to another place in time but with all the comforts one could possibly need for a short stay. The night was cold but the port and fireplace warmed us right up! The bath was deep and sumptuous, and the little extras throughout were very thoughtful and much appreciated. For us, staying here is as much of an attraction now as the rest of this gorgeous little town. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Daylesford...thanks Helen!
