  Great short break

  Stayed for 2 nights DBB, lots of safety in place for Covid, Food was excellent, all cooked fresh Sadly the pool facilities were not open due to Covid but thats not the hotels fault. Overall it was a good couple of nights and very little to grumble about.

  What a find

  Stayed here on a Friday and Sat night as a base for walking and we couldnt have been happier. Suited to those who value an Individual hotel with bags of character and quirks rather than one of those modern, faceless chain offerings. Super staff, so friendly and warm, genuinely keen to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Dinner was excellent the first night and the second night we were lucky enough to be the first to try their new takeaway pizza service (in our room!) and they were delicious, along with triple cooked chips and a garlic baguette. Room was spacious with a huge, comfy bed and splendid views. All Covid safety rules were in place without being overwhelming.

  A very special evening

  My wife travelled down from North Wales after a gruelling day and I travelled up from Cardiff to meet her here. We wanted a relaxing night away and we got so much more. The staff were incredibly friendly and our room was lovely. We ate dinner at the hotel and the food was superb. We thought it may have been one of the nicest meals we've had when eating out together. There was a slight glitch with some details in the morning, but this was put right immediately in a professional and friendly way. That's what real customer service looks like and tells you everything about what a place is like. We'll be back again and I can highly recommend this hotel.

  Lovely hotel but Superior room not so superior

  We stayed last night in lovely Crickhowell, hotel Is great location, beautiful grounds and lovely interior wood panelling. Very friendly staff. We had booked a superior suite. On the website all superior suite pics show four poster beds and this is why we paid the extra. Our bed were two twins pushed together with headboards that banged against the wall and an average room. The bathroom looked recently decorated and sparkling clean but about as relaxing an environment as a hospital operating theatre. My husband had intended to have a relaxing bath but there was no way he wanted to hang out in there. The sink tap also ran warm water at times from both the hot and cold tap. hotel is a bit tired but lovely, the breakfast service was prompt and friendly and hotel had a relaxed, informal air. If we did stay again Id ring to make sure the superior room was going to be the four poster I had hoped for.

  Great time

  Staff where brilliant couldn't do enough for us,room was big ,clean and warm. Really enjoyed the stay, will definitely return. Breakfast was a little late but you cant have it all. Evening meal was lovely, top gravy. But for me the staff sold it, well done all.
