    Charming, friendly, and delicious!

Just came back from spending three nights at the Manor Inn in Castine Maine. Took my friend "Lenny" from Sweden, who had never been to New England before. First, the entire town has an historic, old-world charm. The Manor Inn, run by Simone and Will, is a special place. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The inn is not downtown, but in a quiet residential part of town. You can get downtown by car in less than five minutes. There is also a full-service restaurant on the premises, and we ate there two of our three nights. The food (dinner AND breakfast) was really good. That notion is fully supported by all the "townies" who go to the Manor just for dinner. If you're planning on spending time in that part of Maine, I would recommend putting this place on your short list.

    Sunday Brunch

Learned about the Inns Sunday brunch from a friend. We live about an hour away, the weather was supposed to be beautiful so we called Saturday and made a reservation. The new owners are still getting accustomed to running an Inn, but theyve got brunch down pat! Lovely venue in the sunroom with a view of the water. Small but excellent menu. We started with Bloody Marys, we thought they were the best weve had. I had eggs Benedict, very good. Husband had the cheese omelette, excellent also. We had heard about the Pub and asked to see it. It is a delight only open Thursday through Saturday at present. A great pub menu. Well definitely try the pub in the near future.

Great, Quiet Getaway in a Rural New England Town

We stayed for two nights the last week of September. The manor is a beautiful estate kept immaculately clean by the innkeepers. We enjoyed the view from our room which included the ocean, islands and fall foliage. Breakfasts were wonderful and you can select from several options. The highlight for us was sipping whiskey in our pajamas out on the porch enjoying the crisp air and stars. We highly recommend The Manor Inn.

    Beautiful, big B and B

The Manor Inn is a very large building with very large rooms. We had one of the more inexpensive rooms on the third floor and it was still huge and had four windows, two of which looked out over the bay and the islands. Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Coming from the Midwest to visit New England, this was a delightful old place to stay, everything I expected from Maine!

    Tale Of Two Experiences

We read all of the recent reviews and looked at the photographs and were anticipating a very enjoyable overnight stay. Much as we dislike ever giving poor reviews, our experience was definitely not as advertised. We were in the attic space, in Room 14, and it was a tremendous letdown. The furnishings were shabby, the windows filthy, the bathroom cramped, the closet a literal hole in the wall, all complemented with water stains on the ceiling. In terms of helpfulness, lady who owns the Inn could not have been more friendly. We did hope that our experience would be balanced by a good breakfast but both the food and coffee were both lukewarm. If you can get a room that is on the website it might be a very experience but for us Room 14 was definitely a severe lunch bag letdown.
