  £75 per head minimum spend

  We were told the bar was beautiful by a friend and thought wed pop in for a drink, but alas they have a £75 per head minimum spend. Strikes me as pretty ridiculous in the current climate. Very bizarre policy.

  Love love love this hotel!

  The interior of this hotel is so spectacular and we loved the quirky design. The rooms themselves are compact but clean and modern. The hotel has a cool vibe and we spent most of our evening in the Waeska bar which had great music and fantastic ambience. We will definitely return. Special thanks to the bar staff in Waeska who really looked after us - Romano and Jay in particular who made us feel so welcome. Honestly we really needed a night away and although there are clear Covid measures in place, with temperature taking and hand santiser, for an evening we really enjoyed ourselves and life felt a bit like normal again. Thanks for a lovely stay, we have discovered a real gem of a place.

  Full of Character

  We stayed just one night at the Mandrake for a short break. The hotel is just off Tottenham Court Road and close to the Blue Posts pub. It has dark, exotic, art-inspired decor and unusual statement sculptures like the peacock-antelope over the bar. Friendly, helpful staff and lovely continental breakfast (good granola and fruit selection and decent tea). The room was well-presented with quirky features and a terrace over the courtyard. An interesting place, full of arty character.

  Terrace Room was a dream!

  I went to the Mandrake as a surprise. On entry everyone knew I was the birthday girl and the greetings were so sweet. My bags were taken to my room whilst I was lead to dinner where my girlfriend was waiting. Dinner was superb! Im not usually a fan of South American food but this was nice, and our waitress was lovely. There was a live band who sang beautifully. Now onto the stay, our room was amazing! The bathroom had two basins which was GREAT. The mini bar had everything we would have needed and more. The terrace area which is accessible from the bedroom was perfect. Breakfast was delivered in the morning to our rooms. I have to be honest breakfast was a bit flat and on the second morning my hash browns were missing but because the service was perfect I wasnt bothered. All the staff were amazing, especially the man on the door in the day time. I don't usually go to the same hotel twice but I will be back very soon!

  After spending a faultless night at The Mandrake staff etc lovely, we normally stay at The Hari but fancied a change Went for breakfast again amazing, upon leaving I spotted the bar ( which we missed night before ) I popped in and went to take a photo upon which the waiter jumped in front of my phone and said no photos !!! I was totally embarrassed and frankly furious in front of other guests, stating it was against company policy!! Have they not seen all the Instagram photos Instagram Facebook the hotels own website all have the same photo !!!!! My husband and I were so angry at being made to feel like we should not belong there after spending £330 for one night !!!! We regularly stay in London 2/3 times a month and were hoping to return, but definitely not to this hotel !! Back to The Hari for us Instead of being so jumped up and expect no photos you should tell people on check in and also all the guests on weekends not to take any and put on Instagram!!!!
