  Perfect getaway

  We came up for a midweek getaway when things opened up post covid / I called through to check availability and lucky for us the rooms we wanted had just become available ! Absolutely perfect for what we wanted and the staff were fabulous - attentive and looked after us showing us some other rooms for future stays ! Highly recommend / loved it !!

  A special place to stay

  Absolutely lovely place to stay as a special treat for either couples or solo travelers to beautiful Olinda. Very central with onsite parking, or a bus to to the train station in Belgrave just across the road, and lovely attentive staff. The Victorian Suite, where I stayed, was really good value and gorgeously appointed, and a wonderful supply of breakfast provisions kept me going on my rambles around the area (if you like gardens especially, it's a wonderful place to visit). Even though my room faced onto the busy corner of the main road, it wasn't noisy. Would've been happy staying forever!

  Romantic getaway

  We absolutely love it. Room nice and romantic. Fireplace was magnificent..... this is romantic getaways for me and my husband after 10 years married. Breakfast abundant with so many choice. Definitely coming back.

  Quaint and comfortable

  A great location right across the road from the Olinda shops and cafes . We stayed in the Carriage house which was a 3 bedroom house though one bedroom was locked and not accessible? Not sure why . Bedrooms upstairs- no lift. Master bedroom with en-suite and then there was a second bathroom upstairs with shower as well as a spa bath. Beds were fresh and very comfortable, towels and linen supplied. A number of gas heaters both upstairs and downstairs , plus a lovely open fire with wood supplied. Large fully equipped kitchen and dining area that seats 6-8. Lounge area had couches and sitting chairs - all very comfortable. Lots of magazines in a cabinet , available to read . Tv in lounge smallish but doable , and one also in second bedroom. Breakfast provisions were limited but ok. Kitchen could do with a coffee machine as well as cocoa for hot chocolate. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The only negative was a very pungent sewerage smell at the front of the house and around part of the grounds . Lots of places locally within walking distance . Will come back again.

  Ideal getaway in great location

  We stayed at The Loft in The Mill in The Carriagehouse just before Christmas with some friends. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, made even more special by the lovely Heather and Donna. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and so very homey. The house itself had everything we needed and more. Lots of goodies in the kitchen, to help kickstart our stay, a great kitchen for cooking if you like, plenty of seating in the loungeroom to enjoy a movie, and another seating area with comfy chairs to sit back and chat with a wine. A great outdoor space to chill which was very private. Within walking distance of restaurants and shops, you can leave your car behind and enjoy the walk. The town of Olinda is lovely, lots of restaurants, short drives to nearby villages and very relaxing. We look forward to coming back again to this fabulous property in winter.
