  Lodges at Gettysburg - 3 day getaway - Highly Recommend

  Our second time venturing out since the pandemic. The Lodges at Gettysburg was a perfect choice. Nicely appointed clean private lodge. We stayed in the General's Quarters. It had a main room with King Bed, flat screen TV and electric fireplace. There was a second bedroom with a queen bed and its own TV. There was a separate kitchen area with a dining table, small refrigerator, sink and microwave. Plates, glassware mugs and utensils were provided. There is no oven or stove top, but we brought casseroles which we could easily prepare in the microwave. Bath room is well appointed with walk in shower. Nice porch area with Adirondack chairs. Grounds are beautiful and overlook the Eisenhower farm and battlefield and a small lake/pond. Services were limited under current conditions but the staff was friendly and helpful. Perfect especially for older couple (in our 70's) under present conditions, but would be great anytime. Good location. Well away from crowds, but close, 5 to 7 minutes, to the battlefield (we did the auto tour via car CD which you can buy from Amazon with guide book, or at the Visitors Center or download same in app form for cell phone). Highly recommend. Very informative. Property is also close to wineries and a number of very good farm markets which we visited. Good scenic drive area for fall foliage (we visited in late October) including a couple of old covered bridges (Sach's over which the Confederate Army retreated) is only a three minute drive. Property has instituted stringent 21 point cleaning regimen in place in response to the Covid situation in addition to following state and CDC guidelines. We will return.

  Best friends 50th Birthday surprise getaway

  Loved Nona from the minute we spoke in the phone. She answered all of my questions, since it has been years since I traveled to Gettysburg. I requested a cabin with a kitchen table to do a little crafting and she booked the perfect cabin for my surprise getaway. My best friend is turning 50, so I wanted to rent a cabin in a place neither of us have been in our adult years to explore. Gettysburg was the place! The cabin was spotless! The setup of the cabin was perfect! The location was amazing we didnt hear anything while inside the cabin. Which was perfect! When we arrived Nona had a bottle of champagne on ice to surprise my Bestie and get the party started. We ate at the Dobbin House 2 times, which definitely was one of the best meals we had in months. We visited the Battlefield, Outlets, Mr Gs for ice cream, burgers at Blue and Gray Bar and Grill, Sachs Bridge many times (which was one of our favorite spots), National cemetery and drove around the area. We missed dinner at the Tavern, since they have limited hours and had a water main break the night we planned. But will definitely put that on the list the next trip. Yes, we are planning a return trip in the near future. 4 days was not long enough, but we enjoy Halloween night at The Dobbin House and Sachs bridge. No ghost sitings, but the thrill was worth it! The staff was amazing and Nona was the best ever! We have traveled a lot of places and Lodges of Gettysburg is one of our favorites!

  PEACE AND QUIET

  A delightful stay. Lieutenants Lodge was perfect. The grounds are excellent for walks. Caught two nice bass in the pond. Front porch and back deck for relaxing. Checked in and had zero contact with staff...by choice. Will go back without question.

  Great place

  This place is very clean and super friendly. I was just looking at a place for my husband and I to stay for a night away for his birthday and the lodges came up as an option. The pictures looked great so I gave it a shot and it was definitely worth it. We will be returning for our next kid free night!

  Great stay in the Presidential Lodge.

  We had a great stay at the lodges. The presidential lodge is incredibly spacious and is perfect for a family. The location is great. Set away in the countryside its a nice, quiet getaway. But its close to the battlefield, Eisenhowers house and Gettysburg proper. Great dark skies for stargazing.
