  Muy buena relación calidad precio

  Amplias habitaciones y inmejorable servicio de desayuno, muy completo y con comida muy variada y café de muy buena calidad. Creo que no sirven comidas ni cenas, tal vez sólo algún tentempié. Muy cerca del pueblo, se puede ir en un paseo, aunque yo no encontré ningún interés a la población. Muy cercano a la zona empresarial de Medialaan en Vilvoorde a la que se puede ir incluso caminando en una media hora. En una de las visitas me alojaron en una habitación abuhardillada en la que pasé un poco de frío. Aunque es una cosa un poco personal, prefiero la cama un poco más dura. Aparcamiento suficiente.

  Buen hotel

  Buen hotel contruido en una antigua prision. El interior todavia tiene algo de su esencia... Pero esta muy bien reformado. Buen trato del personal Wifi y parking gratuitos. Habitacion de tamaño adecuado y bien decorada. Esta a escasos 10 min del aeropuerto y 15min del centro... En coche.

  I just LOVE it here

  What an unusual place to stay. The hotel is very funky..it is an old prison and you can imagine what it must have been like then, with the cobbled courtyard, the exposed brick entrance..but it has been renovated to the highest standards. The reception staff were friendly, helpful and very informative. After check in we headed to our room. Now, be prepared! The decor is black through the corridors. A little disconcerting at first, but the automatic sensor lights are super. Our room was big and so bright and airy. We were on the 3rd floor. Had a lovely tree outside our huge window. The beds were very comfortable and spotless. Lovely shower room..with seperate loo. Mind your head though..the steel bars on the ceiling are a bit low but not an issue. Breakfast was very good and included. Coffee excellent, selection of freshly baked goods, rolls, croissant, etc..juices,eggs,meats cheeses, yoghurt, tea. Very nicely served and very friendly and happy staff looking after it. The Lodge itself is situated about a 3 min walk from Th Kerk. It is your focal point. Anyone coming for surgery can walk to AZ Jan Porteals in less than 8 minutes. Vilvoorde is a lovely town, with lovely shops, the Grote Maarkt is a large square with pubs and restaurants all around it. Very pleasant..and no matter where you go the Lodge is only a short walk away. I cannot recommend this very relaxing, quiet, superbly located hotel. Thank you all for a lovely stay.

  Quirky, but I loved it!

  I stayed here for 3 nights while my son had surgery in a nearby hospital. We arrived at 11pm and found that our bedroom door was hidden in a wall mural and a giant sheep was standing over our beds! I absolutely loved it. Quirky yes but every part of this hotel is full of history and unusual decoration. The hotel itself is clean and well maintained. The staff were welcoming, helpful and very pleasant to deal with. There is an excellent restaurant on the canal just behind the hotel and a waterbus which will take you into Brussels for 3.00 each way. (About 50mins journey). I fully intend to return with my wife and show her this beautiful quirky little hotel.

  Interesting building but rooms need a revamp.

  Beautiful building with interesting history. Communal areas are nice and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I appreciate that it was a jail but the theme is taken too far. The dirty, stained carpets, dark peeling wallpaper and poor lighting in the corridors is terrible. Our room was a good size but felt damp until the heating was on for a full day. The open plan bathroom was nice but the half height separating wall was thick with dust (as was the hairdryer). The friends we made at the hotel (other guests) were certainly a bonus to our trip but it was a little too budget for our liking. It was like a very nice hostel.
