What a great hotelMy husband and I have just spent five days at this wonderful hotel. This is the third time we have been and have just booked to spend Christmas there. The ambience suits us, the hotel is spotless and the food outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and we are always made to feel welcome and special.

A fantastic stayThere is nothing bad to say about this hotel. From the moment we arrived to when we left, we were looked after. The staff ensure you are looked after. We stayed for the week, and our special requests (eg.half a glass of water at breakfasts for tablets), only had to be asked for on the first day and was there automatically from there on. The eye to detail was excellent. Now the food, just one word...excellent. The manager, Tim keeps a close eye on what is happening and checks regularly with his guests that everything is alright. Thank you to all the staff at The Livermead for a wonderful stay.

Mixed review from a 32 year oldWe arrived here as part of a coach trip stay for 5 days. The service within this hotel is great most of the time but there are some points where the service was below par even for a 3 star hotel. I believe some re training would help dramatically. The hotel is an old fashioned hotel which could do with an uplift from the rooms to the common areas. The hotel could be restored keeping its character making it more appealing. My room: firstly the bed had stains on the top cover so I had to ask for them to change it. The alternative was a white duvet cover. They changed it with no problems which I was happy about. I had a room at the back overlooking the bins and the entrance to the kitchen from outside on the first floor. The room was very dark and gloomy however other parties within our group had a front facing room with an amazing view of the sea which allowed for light to enter. There is no point in turning on your tv as the channels are limited. It did not have a hdmi port which I would have liked to connect my laptop too. Rooms was cleaned (sheets changed etc) once during my stay. The other days towels and confinements were left outside (not sure if this was a COVID thing). I had noticed a piece of tissue on the floor between the bed and the skirting (Pic included) which I told the cleaner about but it remained there for my whole 5 day stay. This is unsanitary especially during COVID times. They keep the whole hotel well heated but can be overbearing at times. WiFi is not reliable. We had bed breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was served due to COVID as apposed to a self serve continental breakfast. They served breakfast on the tiniest of plates and seemed to lack consistency in the food. Dinner however was lovely and beautifully presented fine dining style (pictures inc). Its a 4 course dinner which you choose before hand. The menu could be clearer with dietary information and a option for vegans etc however it does say if you have dietary requirements let them know. I would say a simple option included would be appropriated as I was travelling with my 14 year old son. There is an option to purchase some things like chips or lobster at an additional cost. The table was full of cloths which initially we thought was cleaned and replaced daily however they are simply turned around for the next day even if they appeared dirty with food stains. We sat in the same seats everyday so effectively we were sitting in our own mess but I dont believe this is acceptable I would rather a bare table wiped down everyday. The sauna, squash court and gym... forget about it. To access you need to walk around the back of the hotel by the bins and kitchens to this 1 story hut looking building. The good thing about this the staff are polite and overall its an ok stay. Would stay the staff could do with some training especially with cleaning and serving at meal time. One server held the top of the wine glass to serve. I couldnt drink it and had to ask another server for another drink.

Wonderful Afternoon TeaThe staff at the Livermead House Hotel really went above and beyond, to provide a fantastic afternoon tea for my Grandmother's 94th birthday. Even though I was a late invitee to this, there was plenty to go around and the cakes were very good. We had the room almost completely to ourselves, which was strange but unsurprising in these times, and our waitress was very attentive. The best part was when she brought out a spectacular looking strawberry cream cake and sang happy birthday! We hadn't specifically asked for this, so it made a very welcome and appreciated surprise. This is the fourth afternoon tea birthday we've had at the Livermead House, and it never fails to please. All in all a very pleasant afternoon where we felt well looked after.

Exceptional HospitalityFirst impressions set the scene. I was welcomed at the door by the owner going forward nothing was too much trouble. A complimentary drink and nibbles were well received. Despite covid restrictions both dinner and breakfast served in my light and airy corner suite were very good in both quality and quantity. Upon departure I was furnished with a generous voucher towards a future visit. I strongly recommend this sea front hotel if visiting the area. I will certainly be returning. Well done and thank you to Tim Rew and your staff.
