Nothing specialWe only stayed one night so can't really say anything really negative or positive. The hotel is just a little simple and looks worn. It is clean though and the room was very big. Staff was polite and helpful. Location is ok too with a lot of restaurants in the main foreign section of town.

Brilliant hotelBrilliant small hotel. We had room on top floor which had air con and a fan so we could sit outside in the sun and stay cool. Rooms were spotless and well stocked for tea and coffee. Breakfast was very good plenty to choose from. Well stocked bar which we enjoyed in the evening. We did eat dinner a couple of times there and was really nice. Couldn't fault the staff. I had no problems talking to them yes English not great but I wouldn't change that at all. They were amazing especially when they noticed my leg was badley cut and went out of there way to give me all sort of stuff to put on it. Booked to stay there again this year

Very DisappointedI booked 7 nights in this hotel via Agoda. It was pre paid in full which i wouldn't recommend. I am a very regular visitor to Phnom Penh and have stayed in around 30 different hotels all over the city. I was celebrating a special anniversary with my girlfriend and hence went for a junior suite. On arrival around 4pm we were met by a young Khmer guy at reception who told us our room had been booked out for an additional night to the customer who was already in the room. We were informed that we would need to stay in a standard room for one night. I wasnt happy and as i just wanted to get into our room and unpack and then relax. We had lots of things organised for the following day and the thought of having to move rooms was not something i had planned for. Eventually i renaged but said I wanted a refund of the difference in price between a standard and junior suite room which was around $13. The staff member then got on the phone and 10 minutes later the not too happy German owner arrived. He proceeded to chastise the staff member calling him stupid a few times and saying the solution was easy i.e the we go into the standard room for one night. He did not discuss this option with us and no appology for the mix up was forthcoming. If it wasnt for the fact that i had paid the money up front I would have moved to another hotel there and then. There was a hotel directly opposite that looked amazing and in hindsight i wish i had booked this hotel (Anise). The owners parting words were that he would discuss the refund tomorrow. Suffice to say that discussion never took place even although i mentioned it to the daytime staff who said he would speak to the owner. The standard room was dark, dirty, damp and a bad smell. The following day we moved to the junior suite - room 8. Problems with this room - large woooden table stored on its side on balcony/terrace. Not hot water from shower which had no power. Reported twice - never even looked at. No toiletries - take your own. Restaurant menu in room - BUT no food served. No glassware in room. Internet very intermittent. Tiles flooring in lobbies very dirty. (See photos). This hotel needs lots of TLC. I get the impression the owner simply does not want to spend money on its upkeep. I do not recommend this hotel as far better in the vicinity. I will certainely never stay there again.

More than youd expect for the priceA simple but clean and comfortable hotel, close to the centre but in a very quiet road, which offers more than the price would suggest. We had room 5, which was a good size, with twin beds, and both air-conditioning and a fan. Fabulously, it had an enclosed shower - I never will get used to the Asian wet-room bathrooms. The room was serviced daily. The free breakfast is basic with limited choice but its all freshly cooked and served promptly. The big plus is the pool. Its slightly odd turning up in Reception in your swimming costume but who cares after slogging around in Phnom Penhs heat and humidity. The pool was well-managed and surrounded by palms - difficult to imagine youre in a city. Despite what the info says, they dont do evening meals (Feb 2019) but they do have a small bar. The area is, Id say, up and coming. Lots of interesting restaurants, several with an emphasis on natural and organic. As other reviewers have noted, Reception staff dont speak great English but its still 100% better than my Khmer so Im grateful that they were always charming and always worked patiently to ensure we understood each other. We got good advice on our options to visit the Killing Fields and S21 and they booked a lovely tuk tuk driver who took us there and back for less than the tourist rate youll find quoted on some websites. I cant compare this to other hotels in Phnom Penh but I thought it was great value for money, even if it could do with a lick of paint. The only niggle was that our bathroom floor always seemed to be wet although we never did work out where the water was coming from. And toiletries consisted only of soap and toothbrush sets - no shampoo or conditioner as shown on the site I booked through. Really, though, these are minor points in an otherwise very pleasant three night stay.
