Fantastic stayHad a lovely stay at the Lexham. Having never stayed before, upon arrival we were welcomed in. We were given the opportunity to order breakfast for the following morning, which made life easier. When we got to our room, we were thoroughly impressed with the size of the room and ensuite bathroom. The room was lovely and warm and had a nice tray with tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of cereals to choice from and fresh orange juice. We had cooked breakfast, which came piping hot, cooked to order. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been anymore helpful. Can't wait to go back.

CERTAINLY NOT THREE STARSWe booked a family room at the Lexham Hotel for three nights, based mainly on the online reviews from websites such TripAdvisor and Booking.com . I must admit that my trust in such sites has been severely damaged by what we found when we arrived. The greeting was not what I would have expected. To be met on the doorstep by a lady smoking and chatting. The interruption to her chat was obviously not welcome and the check in was also not what one should expect from an establishment that (self) proclaimed to be Three Stars. The lady in question did not show us to our room. Instead merely pointed up the stairs and said "thats yours, 107. Drop your bags and I'll give you directions to where you can park." Parking is actually outside another building on the next block, outside an 'apartment' block. It is, in reality, a house of multiple occupancy. The room, at first glance looked serviceable. A double bed, a single bed, wardrobe, iron and ironing board, LCD TV and an ensuite shower/basin WC. However, a closer inspection of our room found that we did not have a double mattress but two old single mattresses pushed together. Both of which were well used and were certainly not level and sagged on one side. The room door was not very secure, either. At some stage in its history this door must have been forced. The latch on the frame was loose and the wood surrounding it was split in places. There was also a screw drilled through it in an unorthodox position to secure it in some sort of place. While the door did lock, it would not have withstood even a half hearted shoulder barge or kick. Our room was tired.

Great hotel...will go back.Picking a hotel in Blackpool is a little like Russian roulette. But this place was great. The service was very friendly and above and beyond. We got a phone call before arriving to say we can check in anytime as the room was ready...this was really appreciated and saved us time. The welcome was very nice with a very quick and easy check in. Room was HUGE. Very comfy and clean. The hotel is right in the town with easy access to all the a attractions. We will be going back.

So bad that it was funnyI booked this for a last minute trip to blackpool on booking.com. I was 1000% hotel catfished. The pictures looked quite nice, specious rooms etc. When we arrived the lady booking us in was lovely and gave us helpful directions to our parking space for the weekend which was a short walk away. We arrived at out room, I've honestly never stayed in a smaller room, you couldn't swing a cat in there. It was extremely dated and old, vile carpets wires and plugs everywhere. There was a tiny tv in the corner however it didn't have any chanels. The bathroom was about 3ft x 3ft and the toilet didn't full up properly. The shower curtain looked like it had seen better days and the tile trimming was falling off. The bed was so uncomfortable, springs sticking up all over the place and once you lay down the bed felt asif it was tilting down at the top end. My partner woke up with a paddy on and a bad back about 5am which wasn't a great start to our trip. The pole in the wardrobe fell down when trying to hang something up which caused me to fall of the floor its hysterics thinking what the hell have I booked us! Due to me picking the hotel I couldn't even blame my boyfriend which was annoying, I had nobody to blame but myself. The hotel was so bad that it was funny. Hardly spend any time at the hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stayHaving been staying on the outskirts of Blackpool, we thought (at last minute) to see if we could extend our break by a couple of days, When we arrived the owner welcomed us in and allowed us to have access to our room earlier than normal, which helped as we were already in Blackpool. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious and the on suite facilities included bath and shower. Breakfast was very enjoyable, plenty of choices in cereals, as much toast as you like, tea or coffee and a full English breakfast, served piping hot, which sets you up for the day! This is a lovely hotel, staff are friendly and welcome you like old friends. I would certainly recommend staying here. Can't wait to come back.
