Great on the Outside but Devils in details

I have to say that I was impressed by the design and promotion pages of the hotel. But it turned out that was quite superficial. The hotel is splendid at first glance. But a closer look at some details will reveal that it is less polished than you expect from a hotel of this price. For example, rooms are very nice, I found many broken parts in washroom. Other equipments are grandeur. I didnt use the gym but it is very spacious and high equality equipment. Banquet rooms are magnificent. SPA is also quite nice. The swimming pool is very nicely designed. But all is degraded by the level of service. One of the poorest I experiences of hotels this price level. Restaurants are poorly managed, and staffs are indifferent. Probably worst is the private beach - full of rocks, dirt, and even garbage. I know this is not the hotels fault but it is very different from the promotional pages. I really hope the Lalu could create a great hotel brand with great designs and philosophy. But this one is poorly managed and hope they could improve before expanding further.

Beautiful sea view, nice hotel, but cold in winter, no public traffic around.

This hotel is good, as I mentioned in title, bad public traffic around for travelers. I like this hotel, beautiful sea view and it has a beautiful garden. If you choose garden view rooms, sometimes it will be noisy at the weekend morning as it holds some wedding parties. So I prefer sea view room on the east side of the hotel. And this hotel is cold in winter and early spring, I don't like the food, too cold for kid.

    Beautiful Neo-Chinese Style Hotel

Kerry Hill's design means quality and aesthetic guaranteed. Isolated from the city center and it is quiet and worthy at least two nights stay here. It's a pity that the sea water was still cold in early May when we stayed there. The buffet breakfast and dinner were so good with many seafood, especially the handmade butter in a bronze box was one of the best I had tasted in so many luxury hotels around the world.

    Heaven on Earth

Incredible spa, stunning views, gorgeous tea room, comfortable and beautiful guest rooms. Hands down the best place to stay and the best spa in all of Qingdao if you can afford the steep price. The spa will fill a private hot tub with local hot spring water and you can soak away your worries before a perfect massage.

A sumptuous palace managed by a crew of barbarians

Imagine a marvel of contemporary architecture, located on an isolated peninsula away from the agitation of the city, dotted with delightful Chinese objects and beautifully designed furniture, an astounding, immense swimming pool built between hotel and sea. Now imagine that a horde of barbarians have taken it over from the architect - leaving the building to rot and leak; having no clue how to organize service in a hotel; pretending to have 5 restaurants, 3 of them closed. Imagine checkout taking 25 minutes when there is no other guest; having to call in the concierge to deliver your luggage; clueless staff. I should write this review in Chinese because there are only Chinese guests - I've been in the country 18 years and speak fluent Mandarin. My advice: visit the hotel but don't stay or eat there, it is a disgrace to turn such a magnificient building in such a bad experience - at such a hefty price.
