  Excellent hotel with superb staff

  We stayed there for 2 nights in Dec 20 with our dog. The room was spacious and very comfortable, dinner was fabulous in the lounge downstairs and breakfast was super too. Like any hotel, the staff make the place what it is, the staff here are excellent, friendly, helpful polite and fun. This is a great base to explore the Yorkshire Dales, Richmond itself is lovely, plenty of walks along the Swale, and close to the coast to coast. Highly recommended!!!

  Good service disappointing food

  We have previously visited this restaurant and never had an issue. Therefore, on Boxing Day we decided to eat here. We was shown to our table in which we was asked drinks which the waiter then replied we couldnt order and alcoholic drink till we ordered food (working in hospitality myself it seems they are making the rule stricter as you can order a drink as long as your having a meal, doesnt need to be placed together). The staff member then goes onto explaining what they didnt have in stock and we further place our order of the burger, sea bream and beef goulash. He then comes back and says they dont have the sea bream which with my mum being a pescatarian wasnt ideal. She then replaces it with some small plates. The food arrived and the beef goulash was so dry it had to be sent back, the prawn cocktail had no sauce just prawns and leaves, however, the burger was lovely so would defiantly recommend that. We complained about the food and the duty manager was so lovely and sorted it all out for us replacing it with another burger. Not sure if it was a new chef but very disappointed with the experience.

  Our Christmas stay at the King's Head

  The hotel is well located and comfortable. It's best feature is the staff, who are friendly and helpful at all times. The food is 'good pub grub' and generous portions. The King's Head is certainly a very pleasant place to stay and our room was spotlessly clean. Recommended.

  Christmas get away

  Characterful Hotel jn the heart of Richmond. Would highly recommend it. Staff were great, good facilities and beautiful rooms. Very good value for money. We also chose to have dinner and breakfast at the property and both were very good.

  Excellent Stay

  We stayed here over the festive period and couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. In particular given the current Covid restrictions; the hotel has made every effort to keep the environment and guests safe whilst also enjoying their stay. Thank you to Louise, Laura, and all the Team for the outstanding friendly service and making us feel very welcome during our stay. The food and drink quality here was exceptional and very tasty (deserves 5 stars), the room was excellent with a view overlooking the market square to the front, the room itself had all the necessities and very comfortable beds, which was spotless with extra touches and a lovely hamper (thanks for the upgrade too!). The property is centrally located next to the shops and the castle with lovely surrounding local walks. The Kings room, restaurant, bar areas, and ball room are all well kept and tastefully decorated. We found a parking space in the rear carpark on arrival, it is a small carpark so I imagine some guests may need to park elsewhere (but I understand additional free parking is available nearby so it wouldn't be an issue). We would highly recommend a stay here and will certainly be returning in the near future.
