Welcoming, hospitable, outstanding and professionalWe planned to stay here following a 21 hour, through the night, walk along Peddars way. We were running late, due to sore legs, and were going to miss lunchtime food service. But following one call the team were only too happy to put some sandwiches aside for us on our arrival. We expected a cling film wrapped cheese bap but were greeted by an amazing platter of the freshest sandwiches and a small salad. The staff were so welcoming and showed an interest in all that we had achieved and gave us advice for the next leg of our walk to Cromer. As our walking shoes were soaking wet we asked for some paper to aid their drying out but, instead, we were lent specialist shoe drying devices. Dinner was lovely and the owner came to chat to ask about our walk and to make sure that we had all that we needed. The waiting and bar staff were fantastic and their service was attentive but not over the top. The rooms were everything that we wanted and needed. The extensive breakfast was served in a sun drenched dining room by a chirpy and professional waitress. The food was all of the highest quality and served beautifully. On departure we asked to leave our rucksacks, they were too heavy for the next leg, and we were helped with this as well. A superb hotel. We really hope to return with our partners and familes.

Average foodAttractive pub from the outside but lacking attention to detail inside. Bar area dog friendly but there was pump was churning away behind the bar which sounded like you were in a kitchen with the dishwasher on. Food had good size portions, we ate most of it as we had been on a long walk but it was average quality, certainly for the price. I am no snob but if my local in North Yorkshire served food like this it would be out of business fairly quickly. Not a place for a re visit. Put it that way.

Highly recommendedStayed here for a short break with our dog. Comfortable and quiet room with everything you need. Excellent location for touring The beautiful coastline. The staff make you feel so welcome, ever so friendly and attentive. Food is delicious and plentiful. The bar and restaurant have an extremely relaxing atmosphere and a lovely beer garden that we look forward to visiting in the summer months. We will definitely return again and plan to bring family for another super meal. Thank you. .

Perfect Christmas lunch 2020We were sad not to be spending Christmas with our large extended family but took the opportunity to book Christmas lunch at King William 1V. This was a great move, Christmas lunch here was one of the best we have ever had. Staff attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Great quality, well presented food and flexible with our slight variation off the set menu Tasteful decorations and lovely festive feel and very Covid secure with well spaced tables. A great experience and planning to book again for next year, hopefully with our large family Thoroughly recommend
