Near missWe stayed here years ago just after it reopened. They were offering a special mid week rate that attracted us. The building and furniture of the commmon rooms were well maintained and presented. Our room was very large (last time we stayed on the third floor in a much smaller room.). The fittings and layout of the room and bath were worth the full price. The bed ws comfortable, the shower was good. All and all the facility rated 5 stars. However, there were misses. Our room rate included breakfast credit of $25 from their restaurant table six. The first morning we had a very nice omelet served alone on a plate with one piece of bread. The second morning we went for eggs and potatoes and bacon and ordered a side of bread for $3, Again, the meal was served without garnishments and with one, very thin slice of bread. No fruit, no berries, none of what one would expect from such a nice looking extablishment. We were also wakened early (about 6:15) by the recycle pick up which was placed directly under our window. I understand deliveries and pick ups need to be made but typically, they are scheduled for 7 or later if they impinge upon the customer.

A beautiful place, but a bit of a surprise!Beautiful property but I was surprised at how I was treated when I called to inquire about hosting a Bridal Shower. First the person I was speaking with was not really listening to me because he continued to refer to what I was inquiring about as a baby shower, I stated several times that the party would be a bridal shower. The cost was 75 dollars a plate, which is what I was fully expecting for such a great venue. I asked what would be included in the menu for that price and if I could come and sit down and speak with someone about the event etc..... The person stated...."I do not think you are a good fit for our property." I was stunned by this and asked to speak to the manager of the property. The response from this staff person was...."I am the owner' and he stated again that I and my guests would not be a good fit for this property. I am fully aware of the beauty of this property that is why I was interested in hosting a bridal shower there. I am still stunned that an assumption can be made over the phone that I am not good enough to be a guest at the Kemble Street Inn in Lenox.

DisappointingThis is a beautiful property. The decor and furnishings have been lovingly and care dully selected. The location is great - walking distance to all the restaurants in Lenox. However, it is as if the owner lost interest. For the price, many amenities are missing in the rooms. For example, beautiful robes, no slippers. No hook to hang towels in the bathroom if you want to save your towels. Bathroom door could not close. But the worst part of the stay was the overpriced and underwhelming breakfast. You can order eggs but if you want toast it is $2 extra, for one piece. And every dish is sparsely presented with very little choice and variety. The breakfast is $25 extra per person per room. At a hotel that considers itself upscale, as reflected in the prices, this was annoying and disappointing. Would love to return, but not until someone decides to pay attention to the details. Also, apart from Mary, who is a jewel, there is no feeling of welcome on the part of the staff who are for the most part well-meaning but not well trained. Too bad.

Phenomenal and then someIt deserves a Sixth star , it gets virtually no better than The Kemble Inn , the service is equal to the food , which is equal to the relaxation , which is equal to the staggering physical beauty of the place ( the renovation alone is just awwwww! ) which is equal to the view, which is equal to the countless little things that make The Kemble Inn property singular . Which is equal to...everything else you could imagine . Truly , from check in(manager AJ -Nebraska roots -Huskers!! ) went above and beyond gave us the most amazing room , with lush RL bedding that you never want to leave . I was in the lady Gaga room. They did such an amazing renovation on the whole grounds. This was for a fall foliage weekend , we said every year we would go back . I cant recommend The Kemble Inn enough , totally worth every penny ( and then some ) and capable of making you not want to leave ( even when you must). Exceptional , TKI . Just exceptional

Stunning hotelThis is a beautiful restored mansion house managed by the lovely Mary with the help of Caroline and George. We had rooms 201 and 202, which were both beautiful. The green bar is a great place to have a drink before you go out for dinner. Unfortunately the restaurant wasnt open at the Kemble on the night we were there so we went into town. The hotel would have been a lovely setting to get dressed up for a nice dinner but cant be helped. The only disappointment was breakfast as you get a $25 per head allowance, which only enables you to have a main course and 2 cups of tea. This seems unnecessarily mean and is the only thing that would stop me from giving this beautiful hotel an excellent rating. Others have complained about this so its something the hotel needs to address.
