    Comfortable

    A comfortable clean room, friendly welcome and free parking at rear or on street by the green. Good size bathroom with shower. View over the green from rooms at the front of 43. We were in room 1. Not disturbed by the restaurant below and great not having to go far after a lovely meal.

    Very nice stay

    Stayed here for 2 nights, had a really nice evening meal on the first night and 2 great breakfasts. The owner and staff were very friendly and the room we stayed in was lovely overlooking the village green, Very comfortable bed and a good shower. Free parking on site too. Situated fairly close to the local railway station which we used to take a trip into Clacton one day. Would recommend staying here and the restaurant to others.

    Spacious and exceptionally clean

    We really enjoyed staying in this place. The staff were all lovely, the room was spacious and clean, there was a reasonable choice of tea (my favourite, Twinings English Breakfast) and coffee, plus biscuits. We didn't pay the extra £8-or-so for breakfast but, judging by the evening meal we enjoyed the night before, I'm sure it would have been lovely. Highly recommended.

    Faultless

    We stayed here for one night on our way to Suffolk and it was a real find. Our room was excellent - clean, bright, and very comfortable with a superb bed. Shower was roomy and powerful. We ate our evening meal in the restaurant: me the mussels, she the lamb, and both were utterly delicious. Spoke briefly to the owner who was friendly and enthusiastic, and during our stay all the staff were very professional, courteous and attentive. Would definitely return and highly recommend to anyone considering a visit here.

    A visit to the village

    My father and I stayed here for a few nights when we came to the village to visit my Mother's memorial bench. The property over looks the green and is a few minutes walk from the train station. Mark and his family were wonderful hosts. The rooms were spacious, each with their own bathroom and shower. The attached Restaurant serves a delicious varied menu at Lunch and Dinner. We also enjoyed a hearty breakfast each morning. Will definitely stay again when we are next in the village. Thanks Mark and family, the stay could not have been more perfect.
