A Calm ReprieveSpent a peaceful night here after a busy day of meetings - the room was comfortable and clean and the restuarant supper offering was delicious! And DESSERT cannot be missed! A tempermental television was quickly replaced in the room in the evening by cheerful staff. Breakfast the next morning was delivered to the table hot and quickly! Thanks for a great stay - will be back!

Old, tired and not up to it's locationWe stayed as part of a "Stay and Play" golf deal. We were booked for two separate days (3 days apart) and we canceled the second night after the first night. This was a very basic room and hadn't aged well as it felt like it was built in the 60's. There were no extras in the room which didn't even have a trash can. The air conditioner would only work for about 10 minutes then stopped despite the temperature setting. The included breakfast was basic but the service was excellent. We didn't eat dinner here as they didn't open early enough for us. The restaurant was quite basic and looked to be quite old but had a beautiful view. The location was beautiful and there would be things for kids to do in the summer, but the "beach" looked uninviting regardless of weather. Even for a "Stay and Play" this was no deal.

Excellent Experience for our Winter Wedding! We booked the Inverary Resort for our small winter wedding this December, and had an excellent experience from start to finish. Our initial impression of the venue and staff was great, and only improved through the planning process. The Events Coordinator went above and beyond to make sure that all of our questions (of which there were many!) were answered. In the days leading up to the wedding, the Coordinator was readily available to help us out with any last minute coordination and potential issues. Having someone so solutions-focused during our planning leading up to the day was so very appreciated, and led to us feeling like the whole staff at the Inverary were emotionally invested in us having a special day. That meant a lot! Our wedding date was one of their last days of the season, and Covid-19 restrictions were in full force, so naturally some things were not immediately available, but the staff worked hard to make sure that everything worked out. For example, the on-site Spa was closed, but they worked together to find a local hairstylist to come to the Spa and complete our styles, and she did a fantastic job! They truly went the extra mile, and it was very much appreciated. We had some additional technical requests that were above and beyond that of a typical wedding, and all the staff came together to help us pull that together, including a dry run of everything a couple of days before the ceremony itself, so that we could be more relaxed on the day of. The ceremony itself worked out perfectly, but the meal was the biggest highlight of the night. Since we had such a small group, the chef had the ability to customize a menu for our event. His creativity and attention to detail in crafting this menu was second to none. Everything tasted amazing, and was expertly presented. We had the opportunity to chat with him after the meal, and his enthusiasm and pride in his work was evident. We cant wait to have another meal crafted by him! The Food & Beverage Manager was absolutely excellent. She was attentive, personable and engaging throughout our entire meal and beyond. She exuded a passion for her work that made us feel that she cared about our event just as much as we did. Our experience at the Inverary exceeded our expectations, and we are already planning on going back to celebrate our anniversary. Kudos to all staff, Would highly recommend!

Save yourself the disappointmentMy partner and I just returned home from a weekend stay at the Inverary Resort in Baddeck. We were desperate to get away for a few nights, seeing as Covid has been bearing down on us heavily for the past few months. It was wonderful to get away, and we were very grateful for the pub and restaurant services which are offered on site. We wanted to just bring a few things to the attention of yourself and management to perhaps improve upon for future guests. With the package, there is a "sweet treat" when we arrive. This was Cape Breton oatcakes dipped half in chocolate and some sliced fruit. We did not arrive until around 630pm when checkin is at 3. The fruit and outtakes were wrapped on the same plate but the fruit was not kept cool. Perhaps it could be put on ice? Also, the oatcakes were nice, but as this is part of the "winter getaway package" as advertised I was a little disappointed that this is what we found. I was expecting perhaps, some locally sourced goods. I know Jill's Chocolates are a locally owned company in Iona and Trufflebar Chocolates is locally owned in Inverness. Maybe supporting other local businesses would add a nicer touch. The room's are definitely dated, but with no bar fridge , and being a weekend getaway we brought our own liquor and snacks. Which unfortunately we had to fill a garbage can with ice and try to keep cool. The temperatures this weekend were cold enough that we could keep the cheese and deli meats in our vehicle. But it was an inconvenience. There was hardly any snow in the area this weekend, which is hard to predict but we did not use the snowshoes. Perhaps when this happens, that could be comped off the total price? Our evening at the pub was very nice, except there were other customers who did not adhere to the mask rule. A number of different things we observed, but 3 that stuck out were: Customers going back and forth to the washroom without wearing a mask; a customer leaving her table, without a mask and hugging the people who were leaving the pub; and unfortunately one of the servers was not wearing her mask properly. It only covered her mouth. She was not our server, but we couldn't help but observe that she would be mingling/working closely with our server, where contact could be made. There was also a couple enjoying the common area of The Old Barn where we stayed, but they were not wearing masks at all, which made us very uncomfortable. I know it is hard to police all of these things, and people are responsible for their masks, but I work in Healthcare at a hospital and my partner has an immunocompromised parent. We are very very diligent with the covid guidelines in place, and it was just disappointing to see that happening at such a highly esteemed establishment. Just the overall cost of the weekend, and those little things which were lacking, I can't say that I would encourage anyone to book it. A few small tweaks would have greatly improved our stay, and hopefully we can enjoy another stay at another time, but I thought it was important to bring those things to your attention. I like to see locally owned businesses succeed, and have good reviews. Best Regards, Carolyn MacDonald

Laura was awesomeI was surprised to find that the Inverary Resort was open and offering a Valentines package. I booked the package and upon arrival here were hearts on both beds, as well as a bottle of wine, a little card and some cookies. A call from the front desk came about 4 minutes later asking if the room was ok and if there was anything we needed. The only reason I gave the trip 4 bubbles was because of the room. The room we had was just a basic room with basic amenities. Sadly it didn't have a fridge and it only had one chair (other than the desk chair). Beyond this, the room was very clean and well cared for despite it's basic setup. It would have been nice to have a room with one bed but I didn't book early enough I guess and the main building is still under construction after the fire. Each night we went to "the pub" which is actually a conference room that has been converted into a dining room (again because the main building is still being rebuilt. Because of Covid, there is limited seating and we had hoped to have a pre-dinner drinks but we hadn't made a reservation. They did set us up with a little table in the corner so we could have a few drinks and when a reservation didn't show up, they found us a table. Both nights we had the pleasure of being served by Laura who was wonderful and had a great sense of humor. If visiting there, you really should ask for her. In terms of the food, it was very good. The menu was quite interesting and the chef's take on regular food was again exciting. If you are a "meat and potatoes" person, this may not be for you but was a great experience. On both nights there had live entertainment and both acts were great (a nice mix of classics and maritime music).
