  Pre xmas stay

  Fantastic six day stay at this wonderful hotel. Excellent service , superb food and the state suite was a truly wonderful and comfortable experience. Very good afternoon tea taken in the lounge. Pre dinner drinks in the bar before dinner and the four courses in Arlington restaurant wow. Now back to the diet. Looking forward to our next visit.

  Excellent hotel and staff

  It was my first time at this hotel and I thought my stay was exceptional, from being upgraded to a deluxe room, the food both dinner and breakfast was excellent and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was lovely and clean and very COVID conscious, from the sterilised door key being handed to you in an envelope to seeing the cleaners doing the door handles on the communal doors. I would highly recommend this hotel and will certainly be visiting again without hesitation.

  A really good quality traditional hotel.

  Brend Hotels own several properties in Barnstaple. Our original booking was with The Royal and Fortescue which was cancelled due to the current tier system in N.Devon, so we were given the choice of 3 others. We went with The Imperial and stayed for 2 nights.. The location is right in the centre of town and is .easy to find,the parking is plentiful ( with an additional secure car park opposite the hotel ). The hotel is decorated to a high standard and has a really nice traditional feel and atmosphere about it. Our room was spotlessly clean,large comfortable bed,good quality bathroom and a great view of the estuary. We didnt eat in the evening restaurant ( as we had made other plans ) but the menu looked amazing and very reasonably priced. The breakfasts were very good indeed,the full English was freshly cooked using top quality ingredients ( just make sure youre hungry as it was a big meal ) and there was a good choice of alternatives if you are vegan/vegetarian. All of the staff were friendly,courteous and very professional. I thoroughly recommend this hotel and we will definitely stay again.

  Wedding reception

  My husband and I had our wedding reception and a nights stay at The Imperial on the 19/12/2020. From the first meeting Adam and Will gave us exceptional service. Adam showed us around the whole hotel, gave us different options to make our day unique and special to us, and made sure we were relaxed and happy every step of the way. Our guests commented on how amazing the food was, all staff were attentive, our table/rooms were beautiful, our room was stunning, and the service was impeccable. Thank you so much! Jane & Paul

  Christmas package

  Spending Christmas away this year was always going to be difficult, but the stay at the Imperial was made so special and safe made what could have been unusual to being fantastic. Staff and the festive hotel package were superb.
