Terrible festive food experience and atmosphereVisited here tonight for a Christmas celebration. I have to say its been the worst festive meal I have ever had. The turkey was processed turkey roll with less than adequate trimmings food was cold by the time it got to the table. Waitress brought out what she thought was roast beef only to then have another waitress take the food from her and tell us it was roast lamb. Which was stone cold. Santa hat were provided but no Christmas cracker. Told that people were complaining when we opened out secret Santa presents. I cant believe that they told us that a party had complained. Entrance via the pub felt like we were entering a rough pub. Over price inadequate found. Will never be returning and will definitely not be recommending this to anyone else Shame on you Hunting Lodge as this used to be a very special restaurant to eat in. Had better food in whether-spoons.

What a waste of of timeVisited here this afternoon with my girlfriend, her parents and my mum. As a vegetarian I chose the nut roast, roast dinner. The menu stated it was served with roast potatoes, seasonal veg, Yorkshire puddings, gravy and the usual trimmings if you look at the photograph youll see what I was served. Chips, nut roast, 2 pieces of broccoli, a couple of carrots and cabbage. No roast potatoes, no Yorkshire puddings, no gravy. It was embarrassing. Dry cr*p! After waiting for 15, YES 15 MINUTES!! For a table spoon of gravy I sent the food back. Complete waste of time, money and effort. I take it it was the manager that came over to ask what the problem was and I asked who has chips on a Sunday roast and no gravy? and he said it was normal for a vegetarian to have dinner like that. Ironically my girlfriend had the lamb and couldnt eat it as the whole dinner had been drowned in gravy! On the whole, this was terrible. Dry, sub standard and embarrassing and I wont be returning. The dinner on the menu that was described was nothing near to the food that was put on the table. I hope the establishment and management read this review and realise they need to make some serious changes or they will be left way behind.

Long wait for lunchWe arrived at 13:30 having booked a table. There were some people in the garden and a few in the restaurant - didn't seem overly busy. Admittedly the half price meal offer was on but it wasn't crowded out. We finally got our meal at 15:40 after asking twice when it was going to come. Once being told they were going to check only not to be seen again. My Brother asked for extra gravy and never got it. The meal itself was nice enough but we decided not to have a dessert as it probably would have been another long wait.

Birthday stay overMy husband booked us a room for the night for my birthday. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are unique in design and decoration. The food is absolutely amazing too as they were easily able to cater for my coeliac vegetarian diet. Covid measures were inforce so we felt very safe too. The staff were very friendly and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wishing for a relaxed meal out or a relaxing night away. Thank you hunting lodge!

Dog friendly restaurant and barCame here for a drink in the bar having been refused entry at the Free Trade Inn in Sileby, was welcomed by warm and friendly staff and my dog was even offered treats. Will definitely come here again and have a meal.
