  We booked an early table yesterday for 6 of us. The food was really good, al in the group were very impressed with their meals, the service and the safety measures in place. Even though we had an early sitting and knew that there would be later sittings after us, at no point did we feel rushed. A lovely evening thankyou.

  Fabulous

  Went for 1 night stay Having read reviews on trip advisor pre hand was looking forward to visit, and here is what we found Staff was very friendly and very helpful C-19 protection very well in hand Food and drink are all reasonable prised ( normal pub prices) Its an old pub so we didnt expect perfection, but was very pleasantly surprised how homely andhyggeligt ( in English cosy) the environment was. Room was clean and the hospitality tray had some lovely treats on it, loved the home made cookies and the freshly grounded coffee.! Started was yummy!! Main meal was the only thing that was less impressive, there is room for improvement. It was tasty so dont let that put you off for a visit Will we go again? Yes absolutely !!

  Pretty good thanks

  Two of us stopped for lunch in-between national trust visits. They have an internal one way system to avoid contact with others. Tables seemed to be much further apart than normal which made you correctly feel they took covid very seriously indeed. We had a steak and a fish main. Both cooked how we wanted, with good sides. A nice house red wine too. The atmosphere is nice with a log fire. All round a great lunch and reasonably priced.

  Lunchtime visit.

  Two couples after a long and muddy walk left our boots in the hallway and entered this very traditional and welcoming Pub. Large fireplace and armchairs totally in keeping with the place. We had Beef sandwiches with portions of chips, absolutely spot on. Great selection of beers and wines. Staff were very friendly and efficient and the One way system was clearly marked. Unfortunately a very large and overweight lady seemed totally incapable of walking 20 yards to the Ladies and persisted in walking against the direction of the prominently displayed Arrow. ( How do Staff cope with these half wits, they have my sympathy.) Back to reality: A great Pub, will return for a main meal.

  Fabulous food and drink

  The Howard Arms provided us with home delivery during lockdown while we were staying in nearby Stratton-on-Fosse. The food was delicious and of high end restaurant quality but at a thoroughly reasonable price. We cannot wait to visit the Howard Arms when we are able to. Recommend the Beer battered Haddock and the Beef stew but really, everything we ordered was delicious.
