    Worst accommodation in two months

We booked this apartment on the ground floor (actually, half basement floor) due to it having a place to park our bicycles at the end of an 8 week trip. We wanted to be close to the centre. It was the most expensive apartment on the whole trip and from the photographs it looked lovely. Reality however was quite different. We arrived at the stated time but the cleaner was still cleaning so we had to wait (it was raining) for 30 minutes. The apartment wasnt at all as we expected. It was run down, dirty, appliances were scattered - the dishwasher was under the stairs with electronic parts out on top and rubbish - broken mirror and other bits next to it. The bathroom which was a wet room, had no mirror (that was the one broken), the sink leaked, the shower handle came off when the water was turned on. The kitchen was dirty, not supplied with anything useful, there was a rat trap and poison in the dirty cupboard that had awful saucepans and not much else. The bedroom window faced the street and it had no blinds and no curtains! We were beyond appalled. We called the company who rents out this place and a representative came to have a look. She agreed it was terrible and we were found an apartment in The Mansion. This was 1.2 km out of our way and from our friends who had booked to be close to us. We wasted 3 hours relocating. The new apartment was much better but it had zero soundproofing and was so noisy we could not sleep one night. It wasnt quite finished with bare pipes and other things too. The manager said they had been trying to get a plumber in to The House of Trade for two weeks. They didnt make any attempt to tell us this prior to taking our money or letting us check in. They have now refunded just 40 to cover the whole mess which is actually less than the difference between the two and this took several messages and emails.

Dont touch it with a barge pole!

Almost a verbatim repeat of the previous reviewers post. We were put in the basement, although its not possible to guess from the photos which room you are booking. Its a complete dump: Filthy, smelly, poor condition, poor fitments, no closet space, broken window blind, broken mirror in closet (mentioned in previous review from September) loose and incomplete electrical fittings, extremely hot due to housing boiler for whole house. We did get moved by the management to another hotel, but wasted time in the process and it did nothing for our blood pressure. This property is not fit for rental. AVOID!

    A disorganised mess

First we were told to check ourselves in by going through the park and into a basement. There is no reception. There we found the electrics either missing or not working, plus the glass patio doors would not close. Because there is no reception we had to call a number and wait about 20 minutes for someone to come, coated and booted, carrying spare electrics. She could not get the patio doors to close either. So we traipsed round the front of the building and were offered another to room. A huge room, with no running or bottled water anywhere. Bathroom out and down a flight of stairs. Again poorly functioning electrics, and the biggest nightmare: starry ceiling lights above the bed which we could never find out how to switch off. And did I say there was no reception! THIS IS NOT A HOTEL. Its location is great, but its organisation, lack of facilities and services and human contact are awful. Vastly over-priced for what it is and what it isn't.

    Beautiful Duplex, Horrible Experience

The property where we stayed was almost immaculate and pretty quiet. The wall behind the stove upstairs had grease stains all over it. Sadly, upon arrival, there was no access to the building. We made several attempts to reach the management. Stay away from the pharmacy next door, they are of no help. It took several phone calls from strangers to finally get us into the property. It was quite a bit of time wasted. There were several stair cases to climb with the luggage too. So note, there is no lift. Location is premium though. If you are planning a lengthy stay, and have time to kill waiting for entry, I might recommend it.
