  For the simple, somewhat dirty & noisy offering, we felt the amount paid for the room was high, but were willing to overlook this given the proximity to the airport (since we arrived late at night). Upon waking up in the morning, there was a table prepared outside our door with some bananas, slices of white bread & some cooked eggs. As we had not ordered the breakfast, and since it was prepared for us outside our room, we of course assumed it was included. The bread was stale, and the eggs undercooked--it was underwhelming and sparse. However, as we checked out they gave us a bill for the breakfast, which amounted to almost $50 USD (we were 2 adults and 3 small children--2 of our kids had hardly eaten any of it). Astonished, we told them that we had never ordered the breakfast that they placed outside our room for us; that we were never given the choice whether or not we wanted the breakfast and should have at least been told the night before that breakfast wasn't included and been asked if we wanted it to be prepared in the first place. When we protested, they seem unfazed--as if this was a scam they'd implemented before. We obviously would never have agreed to paying such a large amount for such a meager breakfast. But, we were never given the a CHOICE in the matter and then were forced to pay. That is the definition of a scam. Beware.

  Average place, friendly staff and costly food

  We had an early morning flight, so we decided to wait in a hotel while returning from bentota, so we decided for a low cost option near to airport. We booked it through the booking.com. We took a train from bentota to Colombo fort and changed over to another train to katunayake train station. The hotel is hardly 3-4 km from the station, however Turk Turk driver asked for 500rs. After lot of bargaining one agreed for 300rs, but to our nightmare he lost the way and it took us around an hour to reach the hotel. The driver asked to pay 500rs, and I have to explain him his mistake and finally paid 400rs. The hotel is in quiet place there is nothing around it and it seems to be a residential property. The rooms are ok. But bathrooms are very big, included a portable bath tub. You don't have an option of going out and eating so I have to order the dinner in the hotel. The prices are really high. Rice and curry for 8 usd, and chicken fried rice for 7 usd. I ordered for fried rice and they took about an hour to make it. The portion was enough for three of us and it also included two big chunks of watermelon. However to my surprise chicken fried rice was w/o chicken, but four chicken pieces in a separate plate. I didn't understand the concept. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall good for a night halt or while waiting for your flight, however one can also explore other options near airport.

  the best hotel i stayed in srilanka

  nice location and big clean rooms, the staff were really friendly and always ready to help us, even they can arrange transport, and we had amazing srilankan breakfast also. i really like to recommend them

  Excellent value for money

  Our room at the hotel was spacious with an enormous bathroom. Both were very clean. We had A/ C and a large mosquito net. I think there was an overhead fan as well. We were delighted to find duvets, as in previous accommodation it was difficult to regulate the A/C....either too hot or too cold. The bed was wide and comfortable and we slept well until we had to leave for the airport in the early hours.There was also a full length mirror. The owners were very helpful , and although we didn't eat there , they asked if we wanted a meal when we returned from a trip to Colombo. A tuk tuk to the airport in the early hours cost 500 rupees. The only problem was that our driver from Galle had difficulty finding the hotel, however, if you come from the airport I'm sure local drivers will know the place. Excellent for arriving and departing from the airport, and we heard no aircraft. It was very peaceful, in the countryside.

  Affordable & proximity to the Airport

  This is hardly 2kms from the Airport. Although try to get a tuk tuk or may be a uber to the place. Airport taxi will charge you 1500LKR. A private taxi right outside the Airport should take you in 500LKR if good Bargain. Shirin(Host) is a very very nice person. He has good knowledge of places to visit in Sri Lanka and is very eager to help always. The place does not serve food but Shirin can get a tuk tuk to go nearby for eating.
