  One night break .

  We stayed at the Highfield 2 days ago, just a one night stay, but we were welcomed at reception like an old friend , our bedroom was very spacious with a balcony, huge king size bed , lovely bathroom and tea and coffee etc , we overlooked the meadows with far reaching views to Penshaw monument. We had booked an evening meal in the Thai restaurant attached to the hotel , after a gin and toniic in the lovely bar we sat down to a delicious 2 course Thai meal , the staff were friendly and all Covid measures were in place , safe distancing , visors worn by staff . Our only bugbear was that there had been a festival down in the neighbouring village and numerous young people were staying in the hotel, they came back to rooms and much to-ing and fro-ing resulted in doors banging and raised voices till 4 am! In the morning our breakfast was served by very cheery staff , we had to order our breakfast from a prepared sheet , it was served to us with great choices and plenty of it. We would definitely stay here again and we are already planning to do so , but hopefully without the festival goers !

  Nice stay

  Booked last minute for a dance anthems style show on in the town and enjoyed our night there. Breakfast was nice and the people were lovely. Large carpark and a lovely Thai styled restaurant on site. Clean rooms and would stay there again.

  Clean, value for money hotel

  We stayed for one night in a room with a balcony. Newly fitted out, perfectly adequate. Nice bar on site, great Wi-fi (for watching sports on iPad!), although they do have sky sports too! Lovely on site Thai restaurant. Great value for money.

  Takeaway review due to lockdown

  Absolutely fantastic had combi starter yellow curry and pad tai kapok. Fantastic asked for extra chilli in curry and yep it hit the spot. If you want authentic Thai food u can't go wrong. And we have stayed at hotel a number of times. Excellent experience. Support local business you will never be disappointed. Thanks Kazi and Alli.

  Excellent place to stay

  I chose this particular place as it is at a lovely location which has a beautiful view. My booking was done online and the hotel management was very cooperative and helped me book my family suite accordingly . I had booked a Family suite for myself and the view from the suite was MIND BLOWING . The suite was beautifully designed for a comfortable stay . A loaded kitchen with every thing possible to cook your own meal . The balconies attached to the suite are amazing and very safe to be in . I did order couple of times from the Thai Resto and it was amazing . Do try the Pad Thai noodles . There is strong WIFI which makes life easy.The Breakfast was worth it and very prompt and punctual with their services. Overall had the best experience as it was my first time in England.
