CharmingWhat a delightful find. Charming b&b, beautifully restored brownstone. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Great location with easy walking access. Breakfast very complete and parking out back. So much better than a hotel room.

Home away from homeGreat hotel with amazing staff. The location was great - Just a short walk from the subway station and a walking distance from many places. The breakfast was nice. On my last day they offered my to extend my checkout time free until I leave for the airport...and I didnt even ask!! Will come back next year!

Like something out of a story book!I was here only one night (flew in to Boston Thursday morning, out on Friday evening), and my only irritation during the entire stay was due to the fact that I couldn't stay longer! If you're a solo female traveler looking for a nice, safe, central place to stay for an interview at Boston University or even Northeastern, this is the place. I was in the Morningside room, and it was so quaint and lovely. My favorite part was probably the electric fireplace that was merrily lit when I came in to my room after a cold (but fun!) afternoon of exploring the city. The staff were also super accommodating: I had an odd schedule where I arrived in Boston around 11am (before check-in time) and left the following day at 3:30pm (way after checkout time). The staff let me check in early, and held my baggage at the desk while I went to my interview. I was able to come back, get changed, and go out to lunch before I departed for the airport, with the peace of mind knowing that my baggage was safe. I chilled in the "parlor" for about 2 hours while waiting to head to the airport, and got to sit in a cozy armchair with the warm fire next to me surrounded by bookshelves while it snowed outside. Sound picturesque and peaceful? You bet it was :) I was so grateful to have found this place (which was cheaper than many of the other hotels I was looking at), and will absolutely be staying there again if I ever return to Boston. Oh, and if you're a light sleeper and worried about traffic noise, they had a white noise/sleep sound device in my room to block that out.

Extraordinary hidden gem in Boston near Kenmore Square. This lovely hidden gem is absolutely spectacular! We were greeted by the owners who were gracious and friendly. Teresa even walked us out the door in the rain, to point us in the direction of our chosen restaurant and our musical venue - and lent us an umbrella to walk there. The foyer and the sitting parlor where breakfast is served were truly luxurious - the antique mural style wallpaper was mesmerizing. We were so impressed with the grandeur of our room. Ten foot ceilings, dental molding, an inviting queen bed tucked away - beautiful couch, sitting area and breakfast table. The room was a perfect temperature - but we could easily have adjusted that with the enticing fireplace. We stayed in the Morningside Room and it was grand, indeed! The sheets were very soft and the comforter just right for a chilly night. The room is bright, with simple blinds to block the light, but we did not need to sleep late. There is a noise machine to block the traffic sounds, but they were not overly noisy, and we used the air purifier which provided just the right amount of gentle sound. Everything was absolutely perfect. And the cleanliness of this antique home was so impressive! Not a speck of dust - shiny hardwood floors, and flawless walls. We found the breakfast perfect. This is not a place to go for a giant breakfast - but there was coffee, juice, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread to toast with peanut butter and jam, and delicious little pastries. We will be looking for excuses to come back and stay in the city!

Annual Mid Winter GetawayMy husband and I have been guests at The Gryphon House many times, and each time we visit we are more than satisfied with the comfort and hospitality that we experience there. We just returned home to New Hampshire after our annual mid-winter get-away to Boston, and cannot stop commenting on how convenient and pleasant it is to have The Gryphon House as our go-to Boston home.
