Me encanto. El servicio muy atento. Ibamos andando a Drepano y tomabamos el bus hasta Nafplio por la tarde. Las comidas bastante bien y sabrosas. La playa a dos pasos, una maravilla. Hamacas y ruido del mar.

We loved every minute of our stay

We booked The Grove as we were looking for affordable all inclusive accommodation on Peloponnese with easy access to ancient sites. The hotel absolutely exceeded our expectations. Important note: when we were booking it, it was advertised as three star, but it's in fact a FOUR star hotel. All rooms have balconies, which was important as my husband is a smoker. The room seemed freshly refurbished with simple, but modern look. It has everything you may need and the prices for mini bar are very good. The bathroom was a bit dated, but it didn't bother us. The rooms are cleaned daily and immaculate. All public areas spotless too. We used the laundry service twice, which was very good. All the staff - reception, waiters, bar staff, housekeepers - very friendly, polite and speaking multiple languages. English, French and German were all commonly used by staff, very impressive. The beach is just two meters from hotel gate and we were there every day. There is plenty of umbrellas and sun loungers, you can be either in full sun, full shade or partial shade. There is always a staff member available on the beach, so you can order your drinks. The beach is kept clean and the views are amazing. Few meters from the hotel, by the beach you can hire a motorboat from a friendly, small, family business. We loved our motorboat trip to the islands you see from hotel. There is also a massage therapist in a wooden lodge by the beach - highly recommended. There is also a 24-hour open bar called Aloha, where they serve amazing cocktails. The food was great! Not as much choice as some all inclusive hotels offer, but it was for the best - less dilemma, less waste and everything offered was excellent quality. There are themed nights, for example Greek, Italian etc. There is a hot plate station where member of staff prepares food in front of you (gyros during Greek night, aglio e olio on Italian night etc). There is barbecue night twice a week (Tuesday and Friday I think), if weather permitting held outdoors, with excellent selection of grilled meat and fish. For breakfast there was always either scrambled or fried egg, some sausages (or hot dogs even), pastries and loads of continental choices. Keep in mind this restaurant has mostly French and German guests, you won't find and English breakfast here like in Spain. We were happy with that, but if you can't live without beans it may be an issue. Freshly squeezed orange juice every morning. Hotel is surrounded with beautiful orange trees. TOP TIP: you must have a hire car if you want to explore the area. The town of Drepano is about 15 minute walk away, but there isn't much there. Pharmacy, cash machine, shop with inflatables. But not much to see or do. The nearby town of Tolo is more touristy, more gift shops, restaurants, sandy beach. The nearest place with historical sights is Nafplio, only about 15 mins away in a car. We have seen taxis around the hotel, but no buses. We got stuck at the airport the first night (the hire car didn't show up) and when we checked there was no means of public transport to get from Athens to Drepano. Hire car is a must in my opinion.

    Lovely peaceful hotel

We stayed here for the last part of our holiday in Greece. We were all inclusive and for the price you pay it is great value. Rooms reminded me a little of uni accommodation (rough walls etc..) but the beds were comfy and bathroom clean with a lovely sea view to the side. We had a lovely relaxing time going from the beach to the pool (lifeguard on duty). The beach was clean and as it was probably there is a wooden deck from the road down to the sea and then a jetty to walk on to avoid hurting your feet which was great. The only negative is that due to covid the all inclusive offer has been adapted. Breakfast and lunch are buffet style and staff dish the food onto your plate, there was sometimes a chef doing specialities like pancakes for breakfast, gyros or loukamades. This was great, plenty of choice of salads, cheese and about three meat choices at lunch, nice breakfast too with bread, cereal and yoghurt if you didn't fancy the hot food. Due to covid dinner had to be served in your room. You had a choice of two meals and the vegetarian option was usually fish. Staff were really accommodating and let us request dinners we thought the kids would like (we had AMAZING souvlaki and chips one evening) but as a family of four in two rooms we couldnt eat together and the logistics of serving up the food on a tiny balcony table and then sitting with one child was always a bit miserable. The all inclusive doesnt include coca cola/ pepsi etc.. but did include glasses of iced tea which was nice. There were supposed to be cocktails such as aperol spritz but these were prepared differently for all inc customers. I saw non AI people getting served normal looking aperol spritz (orange on side, large glass etc..). The AI aperol spritz was served in a tumbler and had no prosecco or orange, it was soda water and aperol and really grim. Overall we had a great time, I stuck to iced tea and lager after my cocktail experiment! Its in a lovely area so get a hire car and drive around the coast. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

    Great hotel

We spent a lovely three days here in September. Hotel was clean and felt like they were working very hard to do as much as possible to ensure it was safe in terms of covid. Breakfast tables immediately rinsed with dettol spray - rooms cleaned impeccably and hand sanitiser and mask requests in public places. The rooms were perfect, nice mountain and sea views and a more chilled spot than nearby Tolo. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was good, plenty of pots of fresh coffee and orange juice! I hope the owners had a successful summer - the whole team deserve it!
