  Mejor el palacio que las habitaciones

  Hemos dormido dos noches en la habitación princess del interior palacio. Nuestra sensación es que está mucho mejor cuidado el palacio y los jardines que la habitación. La habitación es grande, las paredes están bien, pero el techo es un desastre. Esta muy descuidado. El lavabo es grande , con ducha, pero no hay plato de ducha sino una cortina con el grifo de la ducha. El colchón esta duro. Las colchas con manchas. Sorprende lo bien cuidado que esta el palacio en comparación al estado de la habitación. Señalar que habíamos reservado una habitación fuera del palacio, pero al verla, no nos gustó y pedimos la mejor del interior del palacio. El desayuno en el exterior nos encantó por el lugar, el servicio y el contenido.

  MUCHAS EXPECTTIVAS PARA NADA

  El día 29/12 llegamos a Misore y teníamos muchas expectativas ya que habíamos leído las criticas y nos lo habían recomendado. La verdad es que el edificio central es colonial y en el pasado debió de ser muy bonito así como sus jardines. Hay un anexo de planta baja y piso donde se encuentran las habitaciones de menor precio y son bastante decepcionantes, se oye el ruido de coches ; la habitación es amplia pero muy sencilla.

  Go while you can

  This old Maharajahplace unfortunately only has 4 years left on its lease as a hotel so go while you can. The main building has 6 fancy rooms which we were shown and where you can stay but the bulk of the accommodation is in a purpose built block. It is not super fancy but definitely comfortable. The lovely gardens and the food served out there is just the perfect. The breakfast that comes with the room was good with the usual pancakes, omelettes etc on offer as well as South Indian breakfast. Good WiFi. The cafe was a bit disappointing. Their cakes were good but not their coffee which, given the credentials of having been trained by a French chef, could have been better. Service there was a bit slow. The hotel had no alcohol licence when we were there but you could buy your own round the corner and bring it in. The ethos behind the Green Hotel of supporting local projects and charities is good and worth in turn your support.

  I loved it here!

  I enjoyed myself very much at the Green Hotel. I stayed in the large Bollywood room on the ground floor away from the road. A very nice room with high ceilings with an enormous bathroom with tub. Outside was a lovely sitting area with beautiful tiled floors to keep you cool. Dinner on the lawn was nice, yummy cake in the coffee shop (coffee not so good unfortunately), breakfast only average. I also had a wonderful driver Mr Lokesh (ask at the front desk) who looked after me in his Tuk Tuk and found me a good local coffee. This place was right up my alley, slightly faded glory at its best.

  Very Irresponsible and Unprofessional during Covid-19 pandemic

  My cousin and I were due to return to Mysore in Sept 2020 for 2 weeks to train with our yoga teacher, and we had made a reservation with the Green Hotel, and paid a 50% deposit. Due to COVID-19 global travel restrictions, the training was cancelled, and we requested for a refund as international borders were closed and Mysore was in lockdown, just like many parts of India. Numerous emails were sent since JUNE, and after many, many phone calls, we managed to speak to the manager, Mr D'Souza , and he said he would bring this up to higher management, but after weeks and months, he could not be reached for any updates, and even refused to answer our phone calls, WhatsApp or emails. We even wrote an email to the Charity Board of Trust but nobody responded. This is highly unprofessional and irresponsible of the Green Hotel! This is not our first time staying there (we have been to India 5 times and we make it a point to stay at the Green Hotel each time we are in Mysore). Ignoring our emails and phone calls is not the solution. If you cannot refund our deposit because your hotel has closed down its business due to the global pandemic , then have the courtesy to inform us so. We are pretty sure we are not the only ones affected by this unprofessionalism. We booked directly with the hotel and not through Agoda or Booking. Be careful if you're planning to book a stay at the Green Hotel in the near future - this could happen to you too.
