  A Classic

  Our stay at the Great George could not have been better! From the moment we arrived we were met with great service. It was busy so the valet took our car so we didn't need to find a parking spot. After a quick check in the porter brought our bags to our room which was so much larger beautiful than expected. The second floor suite in the Hughes house near the main building was fantastic. The afternoon social hour was exceptional with an offering of local craft beer and wine. It was fun talking with so many fellow travelers who were on the same road trip across the Maritimes. The location of the hotel couldn't be better, close to the waterfront and the entertainment/restaurant district. The beautiful St Dunstan's Cathedral is right across the street. Breakfast was vary tasty although seating was a bit limited. The take away bags were great for a snack later in the morning. Beds were very comfortable and the area is quiet so we always had a good night's sleep. Highly recommend the Great George, cant imagine anyone would be disappointed. Will definitely return!

  stately hotel perfect location

  The Great George is a unique hotel. The main hotel is a stately building steeped in history , the lounge area is very comfortable and it is where breakfast (quite good) is served and you can also enjoy tea in the afternoon. There are also a number of charming homes nearby that are also owned by the hotel and those are available to rent as well...I am not sure how the rooms are configured in them as i did not go inside any .I can say that from the exterior they looked well appointed. We were booked into another building owned by the hotel, our room was quite large and would have been perfect for a family as it had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths along with a living room and kitchen. I would not have chosen this particular room for us as it did not reflect the quaint charm of the city ,but we were comfortable non the less. Be sure to take the walking tour they offer at the Great George, it is well done and gives a great overview of the neighborhood which was brought back from a derelict state to the charm that it has now. Oliver was our guide and he did a great job.

  Great Experience

  Went for the weekend with my fiancé and parents. We had booked one of the two bedroom apartments, but when we got there we found out we were on the second floor. My dad cant do stairs (but of course wont admit it). He asked the fine folks at the front desk if we could be moved to the bottom floor (making up an excuse as to why) but they were all filled up. The folks at the front desk found us two awesome rooms next to each other in the main inn and let us keep the price we had booked for the apartment. They were super sweet about it. My dad kept his pride and we still all got to stay together. I dont know your names but thank you! We had a great experience and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend.

  Beautiful Hotel in Charlottetown

  My wife and I just spent 3 nights at the hotel and had a wonderful stay. The front desk staff were very pleasant, the room beautiful and very modern, great size. The hotel was in an excellent location, walking distance to everywhere. We will not be staying anywhere else the next time were back on the island.

  The only place to stay in Charlottetown

  The Great George is a series of heritage homes that have been collected within a couple of blocks in the centre of this historic City. The buildings have been lovingly restored and formed into a first class Hotel. Fully modernized to provide all the comforts one might expect in a five star hotel (like underfloor heating in the bathroom ) while maintaining the character and feel of yesteryear. We stayed at The Great George for three wonderful nights (party of four) and cannot speak highly enough of the accommodations and service. Our suite was very spacious and came fully equipped with kitchen facilities and a much appreciated gas fireplace. Breakfast is served in a very comfortable lounge in the main building and is one of the best Continental breakfasts found in any Hotel ( Current Covid restrictions apply) Ian, the guest experience Manager is a treasure and helped us plan itineraries, recommend and book restaurants, and took care of our every request. It would be a mistake to stay anywhere other than the Great George when visiting Charlottetown.
