  Magnifico

  El hotel es pequeño y acogedor, de stilo colonial. Las habitaciones grandes. Las camas muy cómodas. El bar y el restaurante son estupendos, la comida también estupenda. La piscina y el bar son estupendos aunque no tuvimos mucho tiempo par disfrutar de ellos.

  Peaceful corner in the city.

  A relaxing place and nice atmosphere. Good staff, serviceful and polite. Charm, easy and great French design. Small and nice pool inside. A delicious garden and the rooms and finely furnished. Good choice.

  Lovely boutique hotel!

  We ended our trip to Cambodia staying at the Governor's House Hotel, Alan has done a great job with the decor, this was the best hotel we had stayed in during our visit to Cambodia, really good, maybe just a little bit too quiet. Recommended!

  Lovely building and room but staff atmosphere was not good

  This is a lovely calm place off a very busy road junction in Phnom Penh. The building is beautiful and our room was very comfortable but our visit was somewhat marred by the poor atmosphere between the Manager and staff. The Manager did not seem to be supporting his staff who were hard to give good service (for example providing gluten free food). The food at breakfast was unremarkable. The pool was tiny and very highly chlorinated.

  So close to getting a 5* rating

  First appearances are very good, super clean, neat and tidy. Very welcoming, the staff are excellent, friendly and so helpful. There is a pool which we didn't get round to trying out. Strangely the restaurant is out front and accessible to passing trade from the pavement, it incorporates a bakery and a cafe while also functioning as the hotel restaurant, so no buffet breakfasts, everything has to be ordered off the table menu. Another menu is a lift that only goes to the third floor so tired legs have the staircase to master after walking round the sights of the city if (like us) you are on the 4th floor. We stayed in room 411 which had a balcony, but access is just 1.5 metres high and with my physique I need full/normal height, but the views across the city made the effort of getting out there worthwhile. No bath but a "wet room" style shower with a slight pressure problem - it kept fluctuating both in pressure and temperature. Our travelling companions were in the room next door (412) and they had no problems so it appears to be a room 411 issue. Tuktuks are available from the front door, and taxis can be requested and normally turn up within 5 minutes. This is a good base for couples but I'd question what youngsters would get out of it - not really a hotel for the family tourists.
