  Stop over

  Lovely one night stay in beautiful pub in Hatherleigh Devon absolutely spotless room with so much charm, delicious light evening meal and fantastic cooked breakfast next morning 10/10 everything is 100 percent covid safe

  Very dissapointed by the George.

  £121.00 per night...... No way! Although as we were friends of local people there was a £11.00 per night reduction. Still even at £110 per night, this was without doubt too much. I will list below the need of attention. 1. Book in at 15.00 but not being able to access at the front. 2. No assistance in being checked into your room, apart from being shown to. 3.Bar not open until 17.00 ( now known due to staff shortages) therefore no advantage to paying guests. 4. Dirty glasses with lipstick on them, and when changed a G&T tipped into a tall wine flute glass lols 5. Dirty glasses and side plates at breakfast. 6. Locally sourced produce?... yes from the Co op just down the road. And worst of all arriving back our rooms from a long days sightseeìng and driving at 16.00 to find the rooms NOT made up. I am very fair with all of my reviews, but this place needs to get its act together, as charging top dollar for facilities and then not delivering them is a deffo no no. At most I would have paid £80.00 pn to stay here. Travellers beware!!!!!

  Last minute stay

  Although a sudden, unplanned visit nothing was too much trouble. A really warm welcome; friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were very clean with all essentials provided. Extremely comfortable (and good size) double bed. Lovely powerful shower. Breakfast, lunch and evening meals all freshly prepared and delicious - especially the pies! Every effort made during these difficult times. A memorable visit for all the right reasons.

  Lovely pub with great service

  We stayed for 2 separate nights while cycling round Dartmoor. Both rooms were very comfortable, and recently improved. It appeared that all the accommodation had recently been significantly refurbished - huge new staircase and re-construction round the internal courtyard. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our stays here.

  Really friendly homely stay

  Booked last minute really enjoyed our stay. The team there are really friendly and couldnt do enough for you. The room was small but very cozy and perfect for our needs. Would highly recommend the pizzas and the full English breakfast! The whole stay was great value for money
