  Microwave meals

  I stopped off with my family for a meal and was very disappointed. We waited ages for our meal to arrive which was strange as everything seemed to be microwaved (you could hear it constantly pinging from the dining room which was the first indication that the food would not be great). Two of us got curry which was ok but strangely they were different curries. I had steak pie which was hard and tasteless with mashed potatoes that were full of lumps, my daughter got a burger which was cheap and nasty looking but she seemed ok with eating it. I didn't want to spoil our lunch out so didn't complain as I thought it was just my meal that was rubbish but my daughter told me afterwards that her burger was hard and chewy (surely they did not microwave that as well, it did look strange though so I suspect it may have been). Clearly the staff know the food is bad as no-one bothered to ask how it was, I really am not fussy but I cannot stand it when places make absolutely no effort which is what I felt here.

  Very friendly, good value hotel.

  I stayed with my daughter while working locally. The hostess was genuinely friendly and pleased to help. The room was clean, serviceable and comfortable. The local area was fascinating with plenty of seemingly good places to eat. Dungeness is a must see. Recommend.

  Lovely Lydd

  The landlady if really charming and very helpful. The George is a very old inn with basic facilities. Walking down a dark passage in the middle of the night to go to the toilet is a bit old fashioned. No evening meal or breakfast was available. Lydd on a Sunday is a bit of a challenge to find somewhere to eat! Overall we enjoyed our short stay. Great value for money and a very charming hostess.

  One night trip

  Worst stay ever bed yeh but breakfast of ceareal n toast was £10! N IT WAS A UHG LET ME know as well have to get up early not A very caring landlady no hot water to shave we arrived at 2.20 after a 6hr journey to be told kitchen was closed so go over to spar to get some thing to many rules posted as well we went for a stay no to clean!

  Very helpful!

  We came in hoping for food, was desperate, blisteringly hot, headache etc. They weren't serving food but offered to let us use the dining room with food bought from the take away. Even gave us plates and cutlery! Lovely dining area to ourselves.
