  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

  Sue & Marcus gave our party of six a superb welcome throughout our stay. The location is ideal for taking a trip on the Severn Valley Railway, with (free) parking at the SVR throughout your stay, directly opposite the pub. The great selection of real ales, evening meals & breakfasts were all excellent. All four rooms we had were of a good size, clean & comfortable; with tea, coffee & biscuits. We checked in, following a day out on the steam train, arriving to live music being played on the hotel roof, with a great atmosphere in the courtyard. Social distancing was being observed by all, so we fitted right in & soaked up the vibe. All of the other (multitude) of ale houses are within easy walking distance, but the evening was brilliantly topped off back at The George - with two fabulous young ladies playing the piano & singing sublimely, followed by Marcus closing the entertainment with the best Jerry Lee Lewis renditions that any of us have & will ever witness. Thank you Sue - for making The George THE place to be.

  Lovely staff and even better food

  We didnt stay at the hotel but popped in for a pint. Ended up having a few more and decided to eat. All 4 of us enjoyed the food and the puddings were delightful. Enjoyed it so much we ate there for 4 of our 7 nights in the area

  Brilliant friendly family run hotel

  We have stayed in Bridgnorth many times but this was our first stay at the George what a quirky fun place this is. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and they make you feel like old friends. Nothing is too much trouble and We will definitely stay there again . Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and could not be faulted. Thank you Sue and Marcus for a lovely stay we will be back

  Lovely pub,amazzing food with great accommodation

  Just returned from a overnight stay.. The pub itself is just charming with a lovely vibe, we felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. We decided to eat in after a day exploring... Our meals were perfect, starters, mains and desserts along with a few drinks. Prices were very reasonable and mixed with the atmosphere, roaring fire and friendly owners n staff a great night was had..even with the 10pm Covid closure. Bed was comfortable, room & bathroom clean, great shower breakfast provided a choice of options, again fantastic food... So good we returned for Sunday lunch.Food all homemade,fresh and not processed.Sue the chef / owner certainly feed us well with beautiful, lovely presented food.The george is in a great position to explore bridgenorth with parking avaliable..Fully recommend the George. We will most definitely be returning. Thanks all for looking after us so well

  Busy no frills friendly pub serving good local ales

  Weve called in here on a number of occasions and were again well looked after by friendly staff operating a safe set of Covid related arrangements. We didnt eat, but have done in the past and enjoyed the pub food served. Good amount of parking opposite and had the weather been better wed have sat outside.
