The good, the bad and the ugly...I loved the look of the hotel online and was not disappointed upon arrival. My friend and I were checked in quickly and efficiently by the two perpetual smiling young girls manning the reception. We were given a room on the 7th floor, the highest guest floor. (the 8th floor is where you will find the pool and gym. Upon entering the room, my friend and I were impressed, the beds were comfortable, the shower powerful and with ample hot water, there was even a small balcony. Oh, and there was excellent air conditioning. So all was hunky-dory. That is, until night time, oh the noise! Firstly there is a night market right in front of the hotel, and there is rather a lot of traffic noise too, but the main noise problem was other guests. At night you could hear holidaymakers from Russia shouting to each other, slamming doors at all hours and letting their children run around even well after midnight. Then early morning, even before it was light, you would hear coach loads of Chinese tourists heading down to breakfast at 6am. And don't think it was peaceful in-between those to times either, throughout the night you could hear partying locals and barking dogs. After spending three nights at this otherwise lovely hotel I am left feeling shattered. We had breakfast included in the price we paid for the room and I am happy to say that the food and coffee were good, but not always available. On our first 2-nights the majority of residents were from Russia, on the 3rd night from China. I came down to breakfast 20-minutes after the buffet opened on the 3rd morning and it had been 70% devoured and there was no coffee and very little left to pick at. It is fair to say that the kitchen does send out refits, but on this occasion, nowhere near fast enough. I spent an hour trying to serve myself, breakfast only to come back to the table with half a cup of coffee or a meagre plate of food. Such a pity, as I really liked the breakfast offerings. I know that it is hard for the chef and kitchen when customers come by the coach load, but for independent traverse such as my friend and I, should we really have to do battle with these people to break our fast? I wish I could say I have saved the best for last but, alas no! OMG, how does a modern hotel have such poor WIFI? Try to do anything when the hotel is busy and you cannot even log on, plus there is no WIFI access at the pool. Check out was as friendly and efficient as check in, so at least I was able to depart on a happy note.

Don't expect a good nights sleep, it's soooo noisy. Not enough beds by the pool. For a hotel with 150 room, 6 sun loungers doesn't work. Pool area is so small, you can't even put a chair down. Very disappointing. WIFI painfully slow. Very poor for a modern hotel of this size. No WIFI by the pool. Noisy like you wouldn't believe. Guests shouting, slamming doors in the early hours. Do not expect a good nights sleep. The gym is tiny. I've been in bigger toilets!

Nice new hotel - cash onlyThis is a rather new hotel close to Pattaya Park, small night market and Russian street, probably not an official name but I was quite surprised to see a street with signs mostly in Russian. Very nice rooms, outlets by the beds to charge your devices and more on the bench by the TV. Nice bathroom with a great shower. The TV has an massive amount of channels available. Good air conditioner. The door to the hallway is poorly insulated but luckily enough we seem to have good neighbors who didnt make any noice but as we walked through the hallway you could hear people talking or watching tv. Nice pool on the 8th floor, as we were there during the low season we had the pool to ourselves. Breakfast is typical of a Thai hotel in this price range. Seems to be a hotel that have Chinese group tours coming by for a nights stay. They arrive late in the evening and are out in the morning. Nice friendly staff. I booked my hotel at Agoda, with payment at the hotel. I was a bit surprised that the hotel only accepted cash.

Bad staff will damage your image!I choose The Forest Hotel carefully for my last night stay in Pattaya. In general, the room was nice, everything fine there , specially I like the quiet and clean night market there, but if you expected more quality of service, it were very relied on what kind of the hotel staffs in there. Firstly, the receptionists were not good in English. Secondly, they behaved polite did not mean that they like to help. For example, I checked out at 8am on 12/12 morning. Asked them how much the price going to the North Bus Station. Yes, what I asked was the only bus terminal there, actually very close to the hotel. I have bought a bus ticket by Bell Travel specially with a pick up service, however they told me this hotel was not on the pick up list (even a 5 minutes drive, can you believe?) It was so shame that the receptionist told that they have no idea and information about the place and price. Then the staff called a taxi asked for 400thb (it around 15 USD), but I told you, it only need about 5 USD as usual. Then what they ordered was not a taxi, turned up was a songthaew ( a local street van), it probably paid about 100 thb as normal price. The staff knew that I have to catch up my bus at 9am. So it was the way how they bully the guest in Pattaya! I felt so shame on their way to treat the guest! Hope Pattaya really bad reputation continuously keep the tourists away! We deserve a better city to spend our time and money! No more Pattaya!
