  Location, room and staff 8/10, wifi 2/10

  There is a lot to like about this place. It is 15 to 20 minutes out from Hobart but consequently cheaper although it does make a car essential. I was disappointed however, to discover, after we had already booked and paid, trip advisor were advertising this same hotel $40 a day cheaper than it cost us. A mistake with double billing was nevertheless resolved very quickly. There is a chemist, post office, supermarket and bottle shop right next door,which is very convenient. The rooms, we had more than one, were clean and comfortable, and the staff were lovely, especially Gemma who had to put up with a lot because she had to deal with most of the problems we encountered with our first room. Firstly our key cards kept failing, one out of two every day for the first three days. Secondly,we had issues with the smoke detector. At first it sounded very loudly several times. Batteries were replaced and we were given a free meal at the tavern to compensate. Unfortunately, the next day the same smoke detector kept beeping. We were moved to another room. This was a little inconvenient although we preferred the configuration of the second room. It has more shelf space in the bathroom and more room in the wardrobe. Sadly, the remotes for the tv and the air-conditioner did not work properly. Their batteries were replaced the next day. There were also issues with dirty crockery being left once in each of the rooms. The guest laundry was only adequate and the food in the tavern was OK for pub food. The Wi-Fi? Oh dear. In the first room it was very slow to non-existent. In the second, slow to just adequate. Would we stay we stay here again? If a little more attention was paid to detail, like keeping batteries up-to-date and replacing used crockery, and improved wi-fi, probably. With the same wi-fi speeds we experienced in the first room, definitely not. Nonetheless, thanks to Sarah, Zak, Shaun,and Scott,and especially Gemma.

  Out of the way stay

  The hotel itself is good, but everything closes at around 8pm! The upstairs bar is lovely, especially if the tide is in, but only opens for 3 nights a week. The hotel is nice and close to the airport, but not so close you hear the planes. An easy drive in to Hobart, but you need to uber if you're drinking. It only added about $76 all up to uber to and from the hotel. The unit we stayed in was adequate, but the bed was creaky and we had to ask, on seperate occasions, for more toilet paper, more coffee and more milk. There's a good deli right next door to buy food and snacks.

  Comfortable

  The accommodation is at the back of the club, away from the road and fairly quiet. I did have a great sleep! The room was comfortable and had a couch, coffee table and tea/coffee facilities. They dont have room service available, but you can order from the family bistro and get your food in a takeaway container. The hotel itself is a bit away from everything, however, the highlight was breakfast at the TCM Market next door. I had the smashed avo with a side of bacon. The coffee was top notch and the cost very reasonable. Id come back here for the breakfast! The staff are all really friendly, and helpful too.

  No room cleaning

  Friendly staff, a beautiful meal in a nice restaurant. Nicely laid out room but housekeeping not very good. A thick layer of dust on bedside lamps which were not connected to a powerpoint, dirty coffee table, mold in the shower, and dirty windows. This is a pity for such a new motel.

  For what it is, they have nailed it!

  Nice, clean, reasonably open rooms with full accessibility and away from the main bistro and restaurant areas. No nonsense check-in and out, and a good location and price mix. Word of warning... do not over order in the main bistro and the meals are very generous!
