Great location - Beautifully ExecutedMy husband and I stayed here the night before and the night after our wedding. We got married at Scarborough Fair and this location was ideal. The thematic design of the property only added to our "special day". The house is wonderfully appointed, comfortable, clean and very inviting. The host couple are charming and the breakfast amazing. Walking distance to the old city center it is a perfect oasis.

Wonderful stay at this lovely inn!My two girlfriends and I stayed here for our annual girl's trip. We enjoyed everything about this inn. The house is lovely, and our Room #1 was perfect for the three of us. I slept in the extra double bed and it was like sleeping on a cloud! Also, the deep footed tub was so relaxing to soak in. Room #1 is perfect for three adult women---lots of room to stretch out and a huge closet to store things in. We were the only guests while we were there, so we had the entire 2nd floor to ourselves. We ate dinner one evening on the big table in the upstairs parlor. Also, the huge front porch is a great place to hang out when the weather is nice. Howard is friendly and so kind. I asked him for a stool (I'm short) to help me climb into the big extra bed, and he immediately provided one. The only thing that needs improvement is the water pressure in the shower---it was extremely low pressure. However, the towels and soaps and facial wipes and eye-makeup remover and hair dryer provided were top notch. Also, it was fun to drink our morning coffee (there's a Keurig machine in the upstairs parlor) from the pretty tea cups provided. Because we stayed during the week, we ate breakfast (included in our room price) at The White Rhino just a few blocks down the street. OMG---best coffee and breakfast food on the planet!!! WOW. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Waxahachie! It ranks in the top 3 places we've ever stayed on our girl's trips. We LOVED this inn!

A truly exceptional experience!Preferring to stay in B&Bs in Europe, I'm always looking for the same rich experience here in the U.S. However, to date, it's been a pretty big disappointment....but then my domestic B&B stays have been primarily in California and they simply haven't measured up. But little Waxahachie (population about 37,000) stacks up admirably....thanks to this lovely Bed & Breakfast! The owners, Howard and Mary Baskin, have a real affinity for making their guests comfortable and special. We stayed in Room #1 and were the only guests that evening. Both Howard and Mary are really special people and we highly recommend this B&B for anyone In fact, if you are traveling through the DFW-Ft. Worth area, I suggest you consider this "little piece of heaven" instead of a cold, impersonal chain hotel in the overcrowded metropolitan area. The downtown area of Waxahatchie is filled with delightful shops (antiques, clothing, gifts, etc) that would love to welcome you and your credit card. We were totally "taken" with the area and delayed our onward journey until we had an opportunity to visit the local merchants and contribute to their coffers AND our storehouse of great memories. Breakfast was included the next morning at the nearby White Rhino Coffee Shop and it was as outstanding as the English Merchant's Inn was. A wonderful stay in every way....highly recommended!

amazing tourwhat a treasure! Comfortable, charming. The owners are amazing and friendly. Comfortable bed, good coffee, easy walk to a nice restaurant. We recommend staying here if you want to treat yourselves and get away from reality for a bit.
