  Great food and service

  We came in off the street on a Sunday and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We had food from the menu that I thought was extremely good value. Overall a very nice visit that was pleasantly reasonable for a holiday resort. I would highly recommend.

  Beautifully cooked food

  Honest english bar not pretending to be anything its not. We enjoyed the music - mainly 70s. It wasn't too loud so we could talk without shouting. There was a cosy fire that was regularly stoked and sufficient lighting to see what we were eating. Our food was beautifully cooked and we enjoyed it. I had to try the Kendal mint cake gin liqueur which had a distictive flavour.

  Couldn't do enough for you

  We stayed here for 2 nights (family of 3) and the people couldn't do enough for you. Clean room. Nice breakfast and bar. Outstanding service. Location central within easy walk to local shops,bars and restaurants.

  Great stay

  Me and my friend stayed here for x2 nights and absolutely loved it! Lovely staff and had everything we needed, breakfast was great too, quick service with wholesome meals. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a simple and welcoming stay :)

  Most welcoming hotel in Windermere?

  We've just spent a week at the Elleray in Windermere and couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome to the Lake District. The Elleray is well located in the small town of Windermere, giving easy access to the rest of the Lake District via road or rail. While the accommodation is on the budget end of the scale, compared to the overabundent spa hotels dotted around the lakes, the Elleray is comfortable and cosy. What really made it a great stay though was the friendliness and care & attention shown by our hosts Caz & Tom; including the fantastic breakfasts! In short: Great option for those on a budget wanting a warm and friendly base from which to explore the Lake District. Would stay again.
