Hideaway is correctWhile visiting the family in Solo, my wife decided to book us a room for the night at a hotel. She had booked it online and while it took us a while to find it, we discovered it isn't far from the airport of the city itself. You turn on the street beside the International Hotel Management School and you literally enter into an area that is more of a small neighbourhood with street venders (didnt try it as we were there one night) and small rice fields. Go down a little ways and turn right. At this point, I had wondered where in the world my wife had booked us to stay at. Again the area had more of a neighbourhood feel. Maybe 300-500 meters after we had turned on the road, Edelweiss was on the left hand side. There was a bit of signage, but if you arent paying attention, you will miss it. The car park isnt that big, but when we were there, I only saw 2 other cars besides ours. Now looking at the front of the property, you might think it is small, but it is long as opposed to wide. Checking in was fairly simple and they even let us choose the rooms. The rooms were all fairly similar with only small differences. Instead of a normal door like a hotel, it is more is similar to a gate door. You do a slight turn and you are on the patio/dining area which is next to the bedroom and in front of the personal pool. Yes I just said personal pool. The patio/dining area is designed like a regular room, but a wall is missing so you can sit outside no matter what the weather is. There is a refrigerator, electric kettle, sink, and some drawers. The bedroom was fairly spacious and the bed was close to a queen size. Plenty of space to put your clothes and bags with the wardrobe dresser they had. I kind of wish we had space in our apartment to install one just like it. There are plenty of windows so if you have kids with you, you can easily keep an eye on them. The bathroom has an intelligent western toilet. The only thing it didnt do it warm or cool the seat. The shower was like most hotel shower heads, but the water pressure wasnt great. It was average at best. The personal pool isnt that big or deep. I am 510 and it came up to about my chest. There is also a small ledge area where if you dont want to get in and just get your feet wet. To me, if they knocked down a wall and the beach was right in front of you, it would be perfect. Breakfast was a bit of western/Indonesian: fruit (we received to type of watermelon), fried egg, and nasri gorang. I would have liked to have had it a bit later, but it might have been because we didnt set a time, they called at about 7:30am to ask if they could deliver it. It was fairly good so no complaints. There is a bar/restaurant by the bigger hotel pool (which looks very nice too. We never used it though) which if we had stayed longer, we would have tried it. The only downside to Edelweiss is the parking, distance to places if you dont have a car, and while it wasnt a problem for us, if there are guests staying next to your room, in the patio area there is a wall divider that be locked/unlocked. However this can be good if you are staying there as a family or on a retreat with a group. Also in the dining area, there is only one wall outlet to plug anything into. we unplugged the refrig to use the kettle. Knowing Bahasa Indonesia or at least enough to get by would be very helpful. Overall the place was very quiet and relaxing which is what we wanted. We could barely even hear the mosque when they did the prayers.

Good Place to literally "hideaway"This resort is quite far from the city center. Yes it is near to the Adi Sumarmo intl airport, but it's far from the city. All rooms have their own private pool unfortunately I can't swim here since it's only like 80cm deep. The facilities are just standard. Air conditioner doesn't work well but thank God it's in the village so it's not that hot. There's no bath up, just shower and closet in the bathroom. Overall it's good to "alienate" yourself here. Escape from your daily routine.

Nice gatewayRelaxing ambience with Bali private villa. We go when it peaks time but check in is fast. The staffs are welcoming Nicely. The parking lot is limited but they offer valet parking. From lobby to go to your villa, they have golf car to take you. Entering villa, you will feel private, traditional design with modern touch. The plunge pool is cool. You can chill out or just sit n read book. Enjoying what you want. The have large main pool that you can access. We swim there and have fun. The room is design for romance so the light is not so bright. In the room, the electricity socket is only one. The breakfast is served on room. They will give you traditional menu with no choice. We get "nasi liwet". It is delicious. If you don't like local taste, you better prepare. They have sitting room in front of the room. You can chit chat while drinking tea. Enjoy your holiday. This villa is recommended as its line tag, hideaway......

Short VacationI'd say one of the best vacation I've ever had. Score 8/10 Pros : - Private Pool - Secluded - Thanks to bookingdotcom, I can get it without prepayment or credit card. - Very friendly, kind & polite hotel staff except for they didn't speak English. Cons : - Lack of maintenance Dead clock wall, water heater become ant nest, thorn sheets & towel, mossy shower. - Cramped toilet. >Came here with my wife, planned for 3days2nights had to cancelled to 2days1night because of I didn't prepared my own transportation. So since this hotel didn't have restaurant & I hesitated to call taxi just to get us dinner plus the transportation rental cancelled our booked because late confirmation (and its already 17.00, sold out). We ask hotel staff who very friendly & kindly to bought us dinner ( with additional fee of course). I'll definitely come back here, hopefully better prepared with my own kind transportation. Thx Edelweiss!!!
