If you haven't been here you are missing out!Recently had dinner here for my father's milestone birthday and we couldn't be more pleased! From the moment we arrived and were greated by the owner to the very end of the evening, our experience was nothing short of delightful! Our waitress Amy was so enthusiastic and passionate about the menu as well as making sure we were completely happy that it made our evening so memorable! The decor is cozy and historical and they encourage you to walk around explore the resturants history. Having such a great time, we returned 2 days later with another family member to enjoy another meal- making sure Amy was again our server! Mike the bartender also makes an awesome absolut Vodka Martini and added to the charm of the place. Prices are comparable to resturants on the same level but you won't find the same environmental warmth as here. Some of our food choices were tomahawk pork, steak and lobster, crab imperial stuffed mushrooms, french onion soup and for desert chocolate peanut butter lava cake and apple strudel. Treat your self and come for lunch or dinner..you won't be disappointed!

Cute B and BOverall a positive experience. It's a bed and breakfast, not a hotel, so make sure your expectations are within that realm. The room was as described, and larger than we anticipated (we stayed in the Winston Churchill). The his and hers bathrooms were novel, although the showers were quite tiny. The staircase is steep and narrow, just FYI for people with mobility problems or lots of luggage. I was disappointed in the breakfast as it was quite sparse and decidedly continental, similar to what you would get at a Super 8, and we are used to better options at B and B's (hence the bed AND breakfast). There is some street noise, that's the price of being centrally located. The staff was friendly. Overall we were pleased but the addition of a dark colored towel to remove eye makeup, a fan, and an extra blanket would be very nice since the climate control is not available to guests. We would go back.

Needs some sprucing up!In all fairness, I didnt book this but rather was placed here due to overbooking at a major hotel chain where I originally booked(which is the first time this has ever happened to me in 30 years of business travel), so I was not planning on a B & B stay. However, I have stayed in many before, and this one needs some serious tlc as others have pointed out. I stayed in the George Washington room on the first floor, and there is a pretty significant mold issue in the bathroom that needs immediate attention as there is a huge swath of black mold on the wallpaper and the wood floor feels damp...ew. Unlike other peoples experiences, I found the staff to be very cordial, and my bed was very comfortable, although the walls are indeed paper thin and noise travels easily. I did not encounter any road noise, but my windows were tiny (quaint actually). The continental breakfast is marginal at best....Fairfield Inn does better on a bad day. In todays market, this experience is not worth going out of ones way for. Even elevating the breakfast would make a huge difference.

Christmas Eve disappointmentThe best part of this place is how festive it is during the holidays. The servers were very nice but maybe they were a bit overwhelmed with the holidays and the crowded restaurant. It is hard to tell if the food was poorly executed or the server left it under a heat lamp too long. I have to assume it was a bit of both. All entrees at the table were luke warm (the food was still somewhat tasty but overall not hot enough). One member of our table actually sent it back to warm up. It took way to long in between courses and we had a feeling our entrees would have issues. For example we asked for parm cheese for a young members pasta and it took over 10 mins to get (by that time warm pasta was cool) The bottom line we had warm to cool main entrees with hot vegetables.....we were there for over 2 hours and it was a big disappointment. I get its Christmas Eve but we spent a lot of money for what turned out average. We have come here the last 2 years for Christmas Eve (hoping to start a new tradition) and 2 years in a row there were various issues. Its too bad because its charming and nicely decorated for the holidays....We wont be back.

As Arnold said, Ill Be BackThe atmosphere was beautiful and old world. Absolutely loved it. Quiet, warm, private. The tiger shrimp, very good! The wait staff is energetic and charming. The short ribs were delicious and complex.
