Theatre Themed HotelNew hotel just right across St. Regis Jing'An. Dimmed lighting in all of the rooms. Black tiled bathrooms and gray marbled vanity area. Offers breakfast only, no other meals. Has a mini library and 8 seater bar on side. Staff mostly speak Chinese, but gives a little bit of effort to speak English if they have to.

Dramatically GoodDespite being a relatively new hotel, this was such a unique and pleasant stay. Attention to detail in every aspect of the room, with a supremely comfortable bed and an incredibly quiet stay despite the amazing centralness of the hotel. The staff were kind and attentive and were constantly scurrying around tidying and cleaning. Breakfast looked great but we had business breakfasts elsewhere. The atmosphere was unique and it was less of a hotel feel due to this. Great quality in room coffee in the morning and room service was sharp. Check in and check out were swift, always a bit of a bane when it is slow. For a different experience, give The Drama Theme Hotel a try.

A Midsummer Nights Dream! We arrived in the afternoon before 4pm. The Drama Hotel was ready for us. My children went to the Library Room. They loved it. it was cozy and quiet. Welcome Afternoon Tea was ready soon. I chose tea. Children wanted juice. it was a good beginning. We came to our room soon after the Afternoon Tea. The name of the room was A Midsummer Nights Dream. Room with a beautiful balcony. Lot of space, with a king size large comfortable bed. We chose to have a balcony dinner. it was delicious, healthy and top quality. After the dinner, we went back to the room for a bath. It was Tuesday night. We went to bed early after a long bath. children loved the tv with kids tv program. i was busy with my ipad and We Chat, sharing this magical place mostly with female friends. It was almost midnight. After a good night"s sleep we went to downstairs for breakfast. Very similar to Bed & Breakfast. We chose three different kind of breakfasts for three of us. We stayed in the Drama Hotel more than twenty hours. it was dramatic and now a beautiful memory for my family. Thanks to Pitts, Yan, Selin and Dongyue. Thank you all.

Interesting hotelThis hotel is right next to Sleep No More. Location is not bad, close to many shopping places Room is clean and spacious Stuff is friendly, service is nice Breakfast taste good, but kinda slow in making it I like how they give you clues and you need to use that to find your room. Instead of telling you which room you are in. Theres a short walk before u can get to the hotel, so not heavy luggage friendly, tho the stuff is more than happy to help you Room rate is not bad Recommend

2019: Hotel of the Year!In 2019, I visited more than one hundred hotels in Shanghai. I spent thousands of hours in the hotel for business and also for personal space. Sometimes with my children. Sometimes just me. I lived in the hotel since 2014 in Shanghai. We went through all kind of experiences. It's beyond anybody's imagination. Last year, I stayed in the Drama Hotel for one night only with my two beautiful children. It's a Chinese boutique hotel, located in the heart of downtown Shanghai, very close to St. Regis and Portman Ritz Carlton. The whole experience was very dramatic. From afternoon tea to next morning's breakfast. Drama Hotel is not a five star super commercial hotel. They don't have luxurious environment or service like a five star hotel. But they have something, which touched us. Possibly, the dramatic elements, or the simplicity or the genuine human touch. So, when I close my eyes and look back. Drama Hotel is definitely 'Hotel of the Year' for us in 2019. No doubt about it. Now, it's a beautiful memory.
