Very Nice StayBooked last minute for an overnight stay and wasn't disappointed. The room was clean and a good size, bathroom could do with updating but functional and understandable in the current conditions. Food in the restaurant was excellent and good value including the breakfast. Cannot compliment the staff enough, mostly young but very friendly, efficient and Covid safe. As stated the hotel could do with updating in places but at the price we paid, more than happy.

DisappointedBooked 2 nights here , large welcoming entrance and staff No big deal check in all very quick and easy We had room 108 paid extra for sea view as you can see no sea veiw unless you put your head out the window and looked right and if you were lucky you may see something, this room is not as advertised and false claims We did enquire as to where our sea veiw was and they showed us another room with a large extractor fan buzzing but I assume this was a cheaper room as it was half the size and smelt of cooking smells We decided to stay where we were . The room was large and very clean . Breakfast was OK bacon dry and hard my pancakes were raw had to send back , roast dinner was very good and the best thing about stay . Check you dont get fooled into paying for a veiw thats not there !

Very enjoyable and safe weekendWe're just home from a long weekend here. Very pleasant indeed, everything in place to keep guests amd staff safe during the Covid crisis Housekeeping was not happening during our stay to stop possible contamination. We had to unmake beds and put dirty linen and towels into bags and place outside the door on our departure. As i understand it the room will remain untouched for 72 hours before being thoroughly cleaned. Staff wore masks and so did the guests. A special shout out to Adam in the Bar area, he and the bar/restaurant team did a splendid job of serving us with tasty well presented food and drinks with a smile and a bit of banter. We were glad we went when we did as the 2nd lockdown would prevent us going at a later date.

Not goodWe booked 4 nights at the hotel in an ensuit king room with sea view, separate shower for £200 a night but when we arrived the room we were given overlooked the car park and the shower was over the bath. After complaining we were given a room with a separate shower and a sea view but the view was partly blocked by an extraction pipe from the kitchen which ran all day until 9.30 at night and drowned out the sound of the very small television. The room was small with a double bed and only one comfortable chair. When I asked for another chair the receptionist said the room was too small but let me take a dining chair to the room and I pointed out that the room was £200 for the night. We went for dinner, the service was very slow and although there was supposed to be COVID-19 distancing the restaurant was packed and people were queuing for the carvery right next to me. We had the carvery but most of the vegetables were cold and over cooked. Service was slow at breakfast and we were expected to pay for additional items even though we were paying £200 for the night. My wife had a fall the previous day and we didn't think we could stand another night in the cramped and tired room so we left.
