  Anniversary night out

  My wife and I wanted somewhere special to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and a friend from work suggested the dog at Wingham. We decided to opt for the overnight option and had room 3 which was spacious and tastefully decorated. the greeting was friendly and polite upon arrival. We settled into the covered seating area for an afternoon refreshment and then had dinner at 18.30. The food was spectacular and the service was again friendly and engaging. Breakfast also followed suit with the evening before. We will most certainly return for special occasions.

  Dinner & overnight stay

  We had a great time visiting The Dog a couple of weeks ago. The dinner was delicious, special mention to the scallops in peanut sauce. The room was nice and spacious with everything you need and in the morning the breakfast was brilliant too. On top of all that the service throughout was perfect. Highly recommend

  Great find

  We were recommended The Dog and we werent disappointed. They accommodated us at short notice in the marquee, which was warm and lovely, and the customer service was spot on - attentive but not overbearing, amusing and genuine - we felt valued guests and my children were charmed. The food was delicious. My husband rated it as one if the best pub meals hes ever had (and hes had quite a few!). I could have filled up in the bread and butter alone, it was so delicious. But I left room for the pork dish which melted in my mouth, so glad I didnt over indulge. We will come back next time we are in the area - we may even visit the area just to come back.

  Very nice

  We stayed overnight and had a lovely time. Very friendly staff.. The room was comfortable with everything that we needed. Nice relaxed atmosphere . The food at dinner and at breakfast was delicious. We were a bit surprised at the way the menu was organised at breakfast with cereal, toast and one item from list included. However as well as cooked items, yoghurt and fruit salad were also on the list and these would normally be seen as an alternative to cereal. If the list items were all cooked items it would make sense but as it was if one had yoghurt/fruit salad and then a cooked breakfast one had to pay extra. However we did really like our time there and plan to return after lockdown

  Anniversary stay

  My wife and I enjoyed a lovely night away to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We checked into our stylish room in the mid afternoon before an autumnal walk around beautiful Wingham. Our evening meal was excellent - perfectly cooked scallops in a delicious peanut sauce, followed by a fabulous skate dish and finished off with a very good cheese board. The staff were all friendly and attentive and contributed enormously to the enjoyment of our stay. Well be back!
