Friendly HotelWe stayed in one of the Annex Rooms, as we had come from Holland we had to be isolated, the room had a small private garden, which was very usefull for our small puppy. We had to eat in our room and a small bistro set was supplied for us. Our evening meals and breakfasts were delivered to our room and were really nice and tasty. We had a large supply of tea and coffee. We would like to thank the staff for thier warm welcome and great service, due to the circumstances at the time

A pleasant lunchA very pleasant pub in a nice period building with lots of wooden beams. Was disappointed that only half the menu shown online was available. Was especially disappointed that the eighteen varieties of potato shown on the online menu weren't available (gratin, mash, boulangère, parmentier etc). Very reasonably priced roast (included roast and boiled potatoes, parsnips, carrots, broccoli and red cabbage) although the nut roast was a bit underwhelming. I prefer a Delia nut roast myself. Wine was nice and the dessert was lovely.

lovley hotel and staffWe booked a last minute break at the Dog and Bear hotel after reading the reviews on TA and were were not disappointed. The all of the staff are an asset to the place with particular mentions to Julie,Michaela and George who manage to make us feel well looked after and safe in these strange times. The breakfasts are delicious with excellent options over the usual full english. Diner was from a limited menu but was lovely all three nights we were there. Its in a prefect spot to visit Leeds Castle which is 10 mins away and Canterbury. We will certainly be staying again on our next visit to the area.

FantasticWe stayed here a night for my partners birthday. Amazing staff, could not have been more helpful. We stayed mostly as they were dog friendly and they looked after us and our little one so so well. At one point we had a small issue with our shower temperature and they offered us the key to an entire other room next door in order to shower In comfort while they worked on fixing it. Every single staff member was fantastic. They were more than happy to amend menus, provide extra services and help however they could. Even when our dog out of anxiety had an accident on the bar floor everyone was so kind and helpful. We will definitely be staying again. Thank you so much for a wonderful time

Lovely StayJust returned from a lovely one night stay at The Dog & Bear which we used as a base to do a walk on the North Downs / Pilgrims Way. Our family room was nice and a great size with views of the town square. Staff were very friendly and we enjoyed dinner in the evening whilst participating in the Halloween Quiz. Cooked Breakfast was excellent and the children enjoyed the pancakes. Covid measures were in place and adhered to but despite this we still felt we had a proper night out. Thank You
