No masks on staff, gaudy, and terrible pillowsNo face coverings on any of the staff. This is an unacceptable practice during these times - and in violation of New York covid laws. Breakfast was a disaster with tons of guests crowded into a small space to retrieve milk out of common containers and spoons for large bins. Masks not present on most of these guests so again, zero respect for social distancing. I dont care that some people think wearing a mask is stupid nor should wearing a mask be politicized - I care as a physician about the spread of disease to vulnerable people. If a hotel doesnt require its employees who cant social distance to wear masks, then they are complicit in spreading a deadly virus. How stupid. The place is also gaudy and has horrible pillows.

Very disappointedI wanted to start this by saying the reason my wife and I chose this hotel is because of a nice promotion we received (hotel stay, hot breakfast, dinner for two) for $189. GREAT right? WRONG. It was my our 25 wedding anniversary and I called them to confirm not only the price, but the appointment, dinner, etc. Then 2 days prior to going, I had an unfortunate incident that happened to me. I HAD to get an emergency tooth pulled on the morning of because of a crack tooth/infection. I immediately called the hotel and asked how the dinner worked because we would still like to stay at the hotel but with not being able to chew, did not want my limited choices with such an expensive dinner option. They told me not to worry, they can issue us a dinner voucher for $85 to be used within 30 days. How nice I thought. Then we went to the hotel... The woman at the front desk stated 1 - This is not the case, they cannot issue a voucher as the dinner package expired at midnight and there is no manager onsite to speak with. 2 - She stated there is NO hot breakfast with COVID but there are other options. (ok I get it) 3 - They cannot understand how this room for $282 a night I was able to get a dinner package. I SHOWED HER my email verification. After she spoke to the restaurant manager they could give me a $20 voucher for dinner, thats it (even though I had verification before hand). Then she stated that I should be paying more for this room even though I had verification. (Insult) I then told her I wanted to leave and for her to refund me the money. NOPE. They cant do that without a manager. I would have to wait until the next morning! WHAT??? So my choices are to stay the night and eat the dinner or leave, get billed and hope it gets refunded in the morning with no where to stay, or 3..take the 20 credit and stay without eating dinner. We stayed, ate dinner, (tough with not being able to chew) and the next morning got our breakfast. (cold bagel, and an orange). HIGH CLASS! Oh by the way...The woman behind the desk asked us the occasion and when we told her it was our 25th wedding anniversary she said...I will tell the restaurant and they will do something nice. Guess what? Nothing was done. We asked the waiter after our mean what the surprise "would of been" and he said a sparkler. HA Oh by the way i even upgraded the room to the suite by paying an extra $35 a night and we got a room with paint bubbling off the walls. THANKS No ice bucket either. Dont bother with this hotel. They have statues, and are complete "wanna be's". But they cant live up to high class without customer service. And really a high class hotel without a manager on duty? No issues can be solved at that time then. Not acceptable. And another thing...If you say hot breakfast, supply a toaster so we can toast the cold bagel so we can pretend it is in line with the small print or provide a discount without staff questioning it. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere! Please!

Dont waste your timeMy husband and I were looking for a great overnight for our 13th wedding anniversary. We did the overnight package with dinner voucher ($90), spa voucher ($95) and two glasses of champagne. Key points: 1. Spa was nice but over priced for the services. $55 for express pedicure with the polish all wonky. We have hot stone massages scheduled for after check out so lets hope that is better. I need one after the shotty mattress I just slept on. 2. I was hoping since this hotel is a new refirb that it would be nice. Its on the gaudy side, and thats saying a lot offer the place was filled with old cars and fake people dressed up in old style clothes. Mattresses were horrible. Every time I moved I could hear the springs moving. When I would get up from the bed it sounded like thunder. Also finding a very black color long curly hair in our sheets was not reassuring. 3. We did order room service. You can order straight off the regular menus as oppose to the room service menu. The meal was good. We had prime rib and a filet. We did think ahead and bring our own drinks to keep in the mini fridge of the room. Which worked out great. Dessert was horrible. So dont bother. 4. Breakfast is a problem. Under the guise of covid they are just offering an orange, a bagel with cream cheese, and yogurt for breakfast. What would normally be a hot breakfast buffet ore covid. There has to be a better was. Rethink and retool this idea. There has to be a better way. Do better. 5. Overall underwhelming. Choose somewhere else.

Didn't meet expectationsMy wife and I stayed here for two nights after traveling to Buffalo for a friend's wedding. We were really excited because it looked like a really good price for a hotel that appeared to be luxury based on the photos we saw online. While the building itself is attractive, further investigation found it to be quite disappointing. We found dust and dirt all through the coffee maker in our room, the toilet had mold growing in it and I found a hair under my pillow the first night. The room keys we got after checking in didn't work and after getting a replacement that worked for a short period of time, the same thing happened again. We totally understood the COVID-19 related restrictions with masks and not having a buffet style breakfast but having a cold bagel with cream cheese and an orange/apple was not up to par. They have to find another alternative. The mattresses were okay, but were pretty noisy. Lastly, we had dinner at Salvatore's and the food was terrific. However, the service was a little slower than we expected. That may be because we aren't accustomed to dining at higher-class establishments where it's not uncommon to be there several hours. Overall, it was a fine experience, but significantly fell short of what we expected.

Just what I neededI needed a nice hotel with good food before leaving the area. All COVID safety procedures were in place and the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. Great price, great food, and a so so Cosmopolitan but I would highly recommend!
