I would rather have slept in my car!!Avoid this 'hotel' !This is the worst place I have ever stayed..EVER. Their website assures you of ' a warm welcome and a memorable stay' We got no welcome as such, as we stood ringing the bell for 20 mins, then had to ring the phone number so someone would come and open the door, and as for a memorable stay, that you are guaranteed for sure! I brought my partner here for a football match and could not spend enough time out of the hotel! We booked for a 2 night stay-never again! The place is like fort knox, and if like us you tried to stay out alot you will spend of the rest of the time trying to get in, no walk in facility- you need to ring the bell, very much a residential feel to this place, as each time we had the door opened it was someone else greeting us, once by a young lady in her pyjamas! makes you feel very uncomfortable as your made feel you are causing inconvenience by them having to let you in. The room was awful, first thing I noticed was how cold it was when we came in, man who let us in advised heat had just come on so it would be warm in no time, when he left we discovered the window was open, and when we tried to close it, it was stuck!! It was snowing at the time we stayed so not happy to sleep with the window open I asked to moved to another room to which I was told there were none and was given a heater ( during the 2 days we stayed here I did not see one other guest so found it difficult to believe there was no other rooms available) The heater we were given was faulty and kept switching off and when another was requested I was told there was none and given an extra blanket?? We slept in our clothes that night it was unbearable. As for breakfast- if you call breakfast a choice of 2 cereals and a toaster with some not so fresh bread beside it to make youself!!no hot menu and when we tried to ask for tea/coffee there was nobody to be found! When we went to leave the man at the desk tried to charge us for the use of the faulty heater and was extremely aggressive when we refused! Eventually got out of the place, never to return.

I would rather sleep in a bus shelter...I stayed here one night, I was supposed to stay four but promptly checked out the next day after spending just the one night. The room was small, the carpet was dirty, the bathroom was very dirty and the bed wasn't comfey. The lady that welcomed me wasn't the nicest and didn't even show me to my room (which isn't expected), but when the staircase splits into two, and no signs to say where to go. My Assistant was advised on the phone that food was available, but apon arriving, I was told "I'll get you a takeaway menu"...

ONE NIGHT STAYI will keep it brief just visited for one night, difficult to find car park, tried calling hotel twice for directions = no answer....then on finding car park it put me off straight away, 2 iron gates with barbed wire on top....i thought what have i come to, on pressing intercom gate opened, no signs for reception so made my way into a conservatory, then entered a receiption area just like FAWLTY TOWERS, the desk with booking info on was a right mess - poor domestic assistant was trying to find my details...first thing i noticed was a sofa that used to be WHITE/CREAM it was BLACK this being my first impression already put me off viewing my room...lady found my booking told me my room no. and i had to ask where to find it....on entering my room very OUT OF DATE but bedding was clean, as was shower and the towels provided. On me leaving hotel to go out when i returned later on, car park NOT very well lit and i was glad to get to my room and lock myself in. I went down to breakfast at 9.30, no greeting apart from lady sat on said sofa who i presume was the owner that said juice/cereals there your breakfast is on its way. I felt uncomfortable being a lone visitor as normally you get asked whether you wish to have tea or coffee, but no gesture of this. I only found where coffee was when another guest got one from a flask on side. DONT FEEL THIS WAS A GOOD TOUCH either. On me checking out and wishing or rather NOT wishing to pay the owner had already taken the money off my credit card that i placed the booking with, this was a holding deposit with a choice of you paying by what method you prefer, ie cash but TOO LATE for this. I would not recommend it, definitely not, and i would not return. Although my room was clean, it needs a complete overall and decoration. Also some customer service skills are VERY MUCH REQUIRED.

Dog was happy, but he's easily pleasedAlmost impossible to find the car park, which is behind locked barbed wire gates. Have to phone the hotel to get let in - no intercom or anything at the gate. Guess where reception is (no signs) to then struggle with one person trying to find a booking and another insisting that nobody by that name was booked in. Finally get shown to room, 10 minutes later, to find that the bed is a lumpy double, not king size as described. The room, and shower room, have suffered from black mould which hasn't been removed properly. The door to the en-suite was impossible to close because it is badly fitted. Tea and coffee facilities provided (enough for 2 cups), but wasn't topped up after the first night, and the UHT milk cartons were out of date. Breakfast was bread/toast and cereal - on the first day. Never actually seen toast and cereal described as 'full continental buffet' before, but heyho. The second day was a Saturday, and breakfast wasn't served until 9am because 'people like a lie in at the weekend'. Since we were leaving at 7 to get to the NEC this wasn't ideal - no offer was made to leave out anything for us to help ourselves to in the morning. Regarding the dog - he thought it was fine. What we were surprised at was to turn up and be told there was an additional charge of £15 per night per dog (we were with a friend who also had a dog). This wasn't detailed anywhere on the booking form, or on the hotels own website or terms and conditions. We still aren't entirely sure this is a standard charge, it may have just been made up since we were down at Crufts time and an opportunity was taken to make a quick buck. Not having means to pay on me when we found out about this additional cost, we agreed to come and pay it when we returned that evening. Upon returning we found the owner busily trying to process the payment on the credit card used for the booking - even though there were two separate bookings under two separate names for our party, and nobody had authorised the charge to be made on that card. Have no intention of returning here, i'd rather just drive around on the M6 all night, and we advise that you don't waste your time or money either.

Great Car Park / Awful breakfast , Cold roomsNice large secure , gated car park (best feature of this establishment, but hard to find. Breakfast and breakfast choice was poor and whole breakfast experience/area needs major improvements , sausages were disgusting. Manageress/ person in charge was quite helpful. access to accommodation was tricky and limited ie felt like a curfew in place. Room heating from radiator was not nearly sufficient but there was an electric heater to compensate for this, although in fairness it was -2 degrees outside and snowing heavily. Bathroom shelf was tilted which meant anything put on it fell straight off , extractor fan was filthy. Room reasonably clean apart from carpet, bed was comfortable . 2 nights stay. Must say that we have stayed in lots of guest houses and this was the stangest of set ups and we wished we had read the reviews before booking.
