Grubby rooms, smells of smoke, needs updatingVery disappointed in this hotel. The rooms stink of smoke! On arrival we realised there were 2x floors that were none smoking so I'd recommend requesting one of those if you're not a smoker. The room was big and the bed was pretty comfy. There were 4 people in our group and we all had issues with the temperature in the rooms. Mine was freezing and others were far too hot. You can pay extra for breakfast at the Blue frog restaurant next door as theres no restaurant or bar in the hotel. I wouldn't bother though. We ate there the first morning and there was a choice of noodles, hard boiled eggs, dumplings, chicken sausages and toast. Theres some really nice restaurants round the corner which do a much nicer breakfast. We can recommend Wagas. The worst thing about the hotel was the cleanliness of the bathrooms, lots of black mould and the towels were very tatty and need replacing. This was probably quite a nice hotel once but it is in need of some serious updating. There was paper pealing off the walls and the blinds were very gruby. It never felt particularly clean. Hopefully I wont have to stay again with work.

A property with a primary locationThe Hotel has a primary location which determined my choice and I spent few night there. Well, looking grand outside the hotel is pretty average inside. I would give its rooms 3+ star rating rather than 4 stars they rate themselves. The breakfast was included into the room rate. However its variety could be much better. The choice is very limited and the food quality is just so so. However you can find a lot of other dining options and places around the property if you dont mind to pay extra and get a bit better food. Rooms look old and a bit outdated inside. Cleaning standards could be a bit higher too. So, the selling point of this property is its location and if you are looking for it, it is obviously a place for you to be.

Has ideas above its stationAt first glance, the bedrooms on the non smoking floor looked rather good with their bare wooden floorboards and the bed piled high with cushions and a comfy armchair and footstool in the window. But on closer inspection the room was actually quite filthy in places, especially the bathrooms , whose cleanliness does not meet acceptable European standards I was glad to have with me flip flops to use in the shower as the shower tray was FILTHY round the edges. The base of the sink too had to be seen to be believed The bedroom floors had been simply wiped over, no evidence of cleaning products having been used but very clearly marked with the stains, from god knows what, of previous guests And now to my major gripe and any idea of this being a boutique hotel goes out of the window; the simply APPALLING breakfasts, which have to be accessed from the Blue Frog bar next door The only thing if any appeal for western tastes was toast, mouldy at that and with NO butter! My first breakfast didnt even have any bread left! The Chinese style food was very limited and of very poor quality. There was an egg station and I managed once to show the young guy how to produce a half decent omelette but the second time I tried the heat under the pan wasnt remotely hot enough for cooking My other gripe was , this being an International Boutique hotel, the reception staff are not up to the job. Terrible, slow service and unable to understand the most basic of requests. This hotel shows promise but start with a deep clean please. Nobody wants to wash with someone elses tide lines.

Great Service - 3.5 Star HotelThe staff of the hotel is very, very helpful and attentive to your needs. The hotel is very convenient to Metro Lines 1 and 2 and is in the general commercial center of Nanjing. The rooms are a Western 3.5 star, but our stay was overall fine.

good location, but some improvements neededVery convenient location. Five minutes walk to the nearest subway station. Close to many eating places and major tourist sites. The room is spacious, but has various issues. Water pressure is not sufficient. After one person takes shower, another must wait 10-15 minutes for the hot water. On one day, there was no water, because of maintenance work on the water tank. On another day, the door card didn't work because of programming issues.
