Very unpleasant and unwelcome stay.We arrived two hours earlier and tried to get in contact with the hotel (landline and mobile number) - no answer for two hours. Rung the door bell-no answer. After two hours Suzanne opened the door explaining that she was in the shower. She explained that due to Covid-19 hotel is thoroughly cleaned and people are not allowed in till 16:00 which is fine. No hand sanitizer downstairs. We booked Deluxe family room for two adults and two children. Room was so tiny!!! In the bathroom bath mat still had hair from previous people, hair even in a shower :( No WIFI code, had to go downstairs and ask for it. It was handwritten on a box and we were not informed about it. Luckily I had my phone on me, so could take a photo of it and still it was so difficult to understand the handwriting. Internet SO SLOW! Welcome tray looked more like leftovers from previous people. One tea bag, couple sachets of coffee and couple milk. Kettle 500 ml! For a family room! Only after we boiled the water we discovered that there are no mugs in the room. So went downstairs again to ask for cups. Went to toilet at night and stepped into big paddle of water. In the morning we discovered that sink is leaking, and there is even a yellow mark under it. Also no hand soap in the room or bathroom. Had to ask if we could have hand soap in our room. In the morning went down to have our breakfast which was included in the price. Breakfast was served by old grumpy man who came to our table and asked what we want. No smile, no explanation about the menu. When I asked if I could have some fruit or yogurt, he said that this is not possible, only full English breakfast. But to the table next to us he brought bowl with strawberries to lady with a big smile. Another table was offered plenty of breakfast options as well. What supposed to be a full English breakfast was more like leftovers plate. All 4 of us ordered English breakfast but all 4 plates had different amounts of foods. And very little. We felt very much discriminated. Maybe because we are not English, I don't know. Also I think picture on the wall in our room is inappropriate for family room (two naked people hugging ).

Happy Holiday BreakBooked over the phone with Suzanne, lovely person. She professionally dealt with or booking, emails sent to confirm very quickly Due to them being busy we had to change rooms, but no problem. Both rooms were really clean. We arrived and met Kevin and Suzanne who were fantastic hosts throughout our stay. Breakfast amazing and all locally sourced. Couldnt believe they had only been running the place for 16 months. Some areas were dated but Kevin and Suzanne have an ongoing plan which they are working through as well as keeping open for business, also supporting key workers during lock down. We had a super stay and look forward to staying again to see your vision develop. Great brand new bed too Thanks again see you soon. Dan and Tracey

Visited to stay for a friends weddingTravelled from London to Cornwall for my friends wedding. We left at 3pm from London after work and arrived at 7pm after driving through rush hour. We were greeted by a rude hotelier who told us that we had to book in from 2-4pm and we would be charged £20 extra! This was not the type of greeting I expect after driving for 4 hours and it left the whole weekend with a very bad feeling for me and my sister. I have never experienced this and I travel to Europe the Middle East & Africa frequently for work. The ladys behaviour was totally unacceptable and if I had enough energy that evening I would of booked another place. The sad thing was that the husband & breakfast the next morning was very pleasant. But the damage had already been done. If the female owner reads this review I suggest she learns to be civil and polite to guests who travel and did not read the small print in regard to charging extra if you miss the booking in the stated time period & if your going to charge them the do so & dont attack them for this as it is a very ugly way to behave and spoils the whole experience for your guests.
