Decent Hotel on CampusMy wife and I spent a night here on our way to Beaumont, Texas. We've visited the Lod Cook facility a few times in the past but never rented a room. Positives of the room: It had a safe, a microwave, a minifridge, free wifi, a reasonable price, good location on campus, and lots of outlets for recharging electronic devices. In addition, the students at the reception desk were very friendly. Negatives: My wife thought the room was rather small, no MSNBC on the TV, and the free breakfast was rather skimpy. All in all, I thought it was a decent place to stay in Baton Rouge and would be willing to stay there in the future. As members of the LSU Alumni Association, we received a discount on the room price. Be sure to ask for it if you're a member of the Alumni Association.

Location + Cleanliness = Great Place to StayWhile visiting family in Baton Rouge, my husband and I stayed four nights at The Cook Hotel and Conference Center at LSU. The young woman at the front desk made a wonderful first impression with her warm greeting and professional manner. We rented a suite that had a bedroom separated from the kitchen and living room areas. This was great for us since my husband is a very early riser, and he was able to get up in the morning and without disturbing me. The room was meticulously clean with high quality towels and bed linens. The room rate included a breakfast, which we felt was mediocre at best. The food tended to be cold, and the choice of bread items to toast was very limited (no bagels or English muffins). On the positive side, there was a good selection of pastries, and there were waffle makers available which made excellent waffles (although the waffle irons looked like they could have used a good cleaning). Overall, my husband and I agree we would stay at The Cook Hotel again for its great location and exceptionally clean rooms.

LSU GemThe Cook Hotel and Conference Center is a delight when visiting the LSU campus. Just the right size with great suites available at reasonable (conference rate) prices. The property needed a little TLC during my stay, but my room was large, clean and well appointed.

Hotel stay during COVID19 when everything was shut downWe stayed at the Cook Hotel in June 2020. The students were out and COVID 19 was still prevalent. We were visiting our son and thought we'd try a pricier hotel. We had the cheaper 2 bed. The room was small but well decorated but it felt out of date by 4-6 years. The bathroom looked dated. We had problems getting the Wi-Fi to work and my wife had to use her ethernet connection in the end to work which meant she couldn't use the desk. We're not LSU alumni so the decor of replica trophies in the lobby was strange. We were told a cooked breakfast was available but apparently not on Friday when we were given a boxed breakfast. We checked out early on Saturday and apparently the boxed breakfast was no longer available but the cooked one was if we were willing to wait a few hours. Lot of parking and you're on campus. Probably will try another hotel next time.

Worst customer service EverThe room we booked included a breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was supposed to be served between 6:30/9:30. My husband woke up early and had his breakfast around 8 am. They did not have any COVID protocols at all. Utensils were all together in a box. The food was poor and cold. When I woke up, around 9 I rushed to go down, arrived 9:15 am to have my breakfast. The place was closed already. It was a man, very rude, who told me that there was not more food. I asked for at least a cup of coffee. He took me out the place and put a dispenser of coffee in the lobby. I grabbed a cup, but the dispenser was empty, No coffee. We paid $180 for the night with breakfast and received this Terrible Service. No manager, Nobody care about us. And the room was small and outdated. Definitely a place to NOT go.
