Y Boston a 1h30min.

The MicroTel at Hilton PricesFor all the hype, there isn't ANYTHING this hotel has that a MicroTel doesn't. In fact it's actually worse than the MicoTel. You'd think the shower would work, it didn't. You'd think the soda machine would work, it didn't. You'd think there was something interesting nearby, there isn't. The attached restaurant is good, but the hotel's rooms, amenities, and atmosphere are nothing special. In fact the carpets are wearing out and they're really loosy-goosy about Covid safety. We got out of there as soon as we could.

A Christmas MiracleBoy! What an absolute gem. I very rarely write reviews but as I sit here in front of the lobby fire sipping (locally sourced) coffee with my wife and children still sleeping, I thought I would take a few minutes to let folks know what a magical experience this has been. From the initial phone call booking accomodations with the front desk to our entrance into the main lobby greeting it was uniquely warm and friendly. I'm typically not a big small talker, but found myself engaging with hotel employees several times throughout our 3 day stay. We stayed in the 2 bedroom signature suite and it was not only one of the largest rooms I've ever stayed in, but one of the most comfortable and we'll appointed with genuine NH rustic charm. The on-site eateries were incredible and the ambiance hypnotic. So many books and crannies to explore, relax, sit, read or just lounge. Spread out everywhere throughout the hotel/inn. Salt water pool, while a bit small, was warm and located in a nice area that included a rock wall waterfall hot tub.Sauna also there. Did not take advantage of the in-house Spa but looked to have it all. Our children often absolutely loved our time here and it is unlikely we will ever stay anywhere else on our annual "Christmas getaway" to the White mountains. Truly, I could go on and on with all the superlatives. We hate to leave today. If ever anywhere near the area or looking for a unique first class experience, I could not recommend The Common Man Inn and Spa more highly.

Romantic GetawayWe loved our stay at The Common Man Inn. We rented the cottage and just loved it. We visited the main Inn each morning and were treated to wonderful breakfast by their awesome chef! Can't wait to return!

Not as Impressed as I thought I would beWe chose the Common Man for our Valentine's Day getaway primarily because it was in our home state (avoiding covid restrictions in going to other states) and because I wanted a pool and hot tub. It was advertised as being homey and quaint, but was just a large inn and, I thought, very impersonal. The front desk staff was nice and efficient, but not overly friendly. Our room was just a regular hotel room, except all the furniture was supposedly made from natural wood. The room was clean, although somewhat faded. Everything from the heat to the mini-fridge was in good working order. The paint inside the shower stall, however, was peeling. Also...there were no filters for the coffee machine, so I thought it was one of those that didn't need a filter. My bad....we had to clean up a huge mess when the coffee all leaked out of the machine. After checking in, we immediately headed for the pool. Pros: the pool water was very warm, there were couches to sit on while waiting your turn in the pool, they played nice relaxing music. Cons: it had zero ambiance (some plants and twinkle lights would have gone a long way towards making it more pleasant.) There was a wood stove that was not on. (again, ambiance). We didn't realize until after we got into the pool that they didn't have towels in the pool area, you had to ask for them at the spa. And we had to ask at the spa for robes as well. (sorry we dripped water on your spa floors). The hot tub was very nice and perfect for two people. I was extremely disappointed in the complimentary breakfast - typical bagels, muffins and yogurt. The one "hot entree" was cold scrambled eggs and home fries. All in all, Hubby and I had a nice time, as we always do when we spend a weekend away together. The inn was okay, but I certainly didn't feel like we were in the lap of luxury.
