Really lovely Labor Day vacation! We had a lovely vacation over the Labor Day weekend at the Cliffs Resort! I had planned a surprise 60th birthday weekend for my husband and it went off perfectly due to the amazing staff at the resort. Our room looked right out over the lake. It was a gorgeous view! The staff is amazing. I would personally like to recognize Brittany, Ellie, Peggy and Christa at the Cliffs Inn. They are so kind and professional, and made our stay just perfect. If we needed anything or had any questions, they were always right there to help!! Thank you all again! Our room and bathroom was clean and well stocked. The King sized bed was firm and the sheets were very soft! Nice pillows too. It had a nice coffee maker, a coffee bar and small refrigerator. Just perfect for our needs. It's cricket season this time of year in Texas and the staff did an AMAZING job keeping them cleaned out of the room and the building. The Chaparral Grill was a great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Clean, spacious with an attached bar and outside patio eating area. They had a delicious buffet for breakfast over the weekend and the dinners were delicious as well! I recommend the pork medallions. The Pro shop was large, clean, and well stocked with anything you might need for golf. The staff in the Pro shop is terrific as well!! They helped me so much with setting up the surprise tee times for my husband. A grateful shout-out to Margie, Nathan, Brittany (on the beverage cart) and all the rest.

Worst investment ever!I really hope the new management will update and renovate this place. It had great potential but after 9 years it has been a bad mistake. Im a landowner and the value has deteriorated big time but the maintenance fee will keep going! Please do your research extensively before buying at this place. Its outdated and the previous management really ran this place to the mud! Cmon new management please invest more in the cliffs! Cause you cant ignore the view!

Average could be better - not shored up. Staff amateurs.1. Front staff was a bit gruff at first but warmed up and accommodated our request (we were traveling with another) not to put us in side by side rooms. And eventually became more friendly. 2. Front desk staff didnt give us the lay of the land. Ie explaining resort, pool etc details. Or a map (apparently there was one). It was like if you asked the right question youd get a response. 3. AC worked somewhat adequately but didnt get super cold bed was a bit hard pillows flat. 4. Patio seat cushions need replacing 5. We had called in advance of our stay -however staff never told us that restaurant reservations were needed (full and booked when we got there) or offer to make us an advanced reservation. Their website showed spa open but was closed, that there was NO pool service and note that you should plan to bring your own towel and ice chest. 6. Restaurant is more more like a 19th hole bar prob because of the golf course. It closes early. And there is limited to no table service at peak times - in fact we had to place our dinner order at the bar. Menu is very limited especially at breakfast (especially healthy options). Pass on the ribeye $32 was tough, thin and way over priced bar is pretty well stocked 7. No room service. 8. While SOME of the staff (limited) wore masks most didnt not and I didnt see any sanitizing of tables and bar while I was there. Would we be back. Yes now that we have the lay of the land. But again staff and website should provide a FAQ so new folks are aware and prepared.

Anniversary Get A WayWe stayed at the Inn at the Cliffs for our anniversary. We had a lovely lake view room. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the small beach at the marina and the ease of getting in and out at the marina. Our temperatures were checked and masks were required inside the buildings. We did try The Chapparel restaurant and I have to say that was the biggest disappointment.

Great spot on golf. A little old school inn.Overall the experience was good. Beautiful grounds and an old school country club look and feel. The associates were kind and fine , but nothing outstanding or memorable. We stayed in the elite wing of the inn. Differently dated, and and in need of major remodeling. The room looks as though it was recently updated with newer paint and carpet. But the main corridor was dinghy and the designer used area rugs for wall decor. The doorways were dirty and generally unkept. The rooms were spacious but had really poor lighting. NO WAY could you read a book with such poor lighting. Beds were comfortable, linens adequate. Very few electrical outlets and no microwave. The other issue was we ran out if hot water. After husband showered, then I ran the bath, about halfway in the bath the hot was was nonexistent. WHAT? A HOTEL doesn't have enough hot water for a shower and a bath? What? Really yes. The restaurant was average at best. Breakfast was standard fare. The reduced menu for dinner was less than. Frozen french fries that sat too long in their oil bath. Etc. On a brighter note, golf was worth it. Challenging and spot golf. So glad they have gps on their carts. You really need it. Although the rest rooms on the course are total and complete messes. The couse is fun and beautiful. Being just a couple hours from this great golf course, it is worth the trip. Just probably would not stay in the inn, for more than one night again.
