Horrible servicePaid for a queen suite and was given a standard room. Also paid the $20fee for breakfast and made the reservation and went and could not get seated after waiting 20 minutes we left. The room was run down had to have maintenance come up twice to fix things. Told the front desk at checkout and she didnt even care. Dont waste your money. I have stayed in cheaper hotels with much better service and rooms.

TOO MANY TAXES & FEESStayed one night on the second floor in room 209, a queen studio. Room was nice, but loud noises. Staff was awesome. Valet parking is a must...since you cannot park on the street during the day because it was so busy in town. Found out at at night, you could NOT park on the street... but they sure charge you for it. Taxes and fees with room service and delivery fee's were a bit steep.

Had a great stayWe stayed for three days, and loved it. The staff was engaged and helpful. Breakfast was good, and they offer some great menu items and options. Were very attentive to safety for COVID. The history and style were amazing.

Lovely place, very nice staffWe stayed for 5 days at the queen suite, room 203. We originally booked via AA Vacations package and were supposed to stay at Kathy Lee Bates Suite, which we picked from the pictures on hotel's website, as it was the only one that showed wood paneling floors (we prefer that vs carpets). When we arrived it turned out the original suite had an issue with heating so we were accommodated in a comparable suite but with carpets. The front desk staff told us that they were not aware of any suites with wooden floors so apparently the pictures were out of date. Overall the stay was pleasant, everything in the suite worked fine (the gas fireplace and the big hot bathtub were a big plus in the winter). It is a historic structure, so naturally some corners showed their age, but we expected it and the old charm of the place made up for any shortcomings. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Location is very convenient, everything is walking distance. We were offered $15/day valet parking (unlimited entry, 24 hrs/day) but we had no problems finding free street parking uphill on Canon Ave (most of the historic downtown is metered parking), so it wasn't necessary. We ate at the hotel restaurant only once, but the salmon with black rice was delicious. A bit pricey, but worth the money, excellent dish. The only small negative was the $20/day room service fee ($22.21/day with taxes), which was unexpected, as we thought that our AA package included all fees. That is the reason for 4 stars not 5 (besides the switch from wood floors to carpets). On the other hand our breakfast was included (normally $14/pp X2) and the overall price was a great deal, undoubtedly due to Covid-related drop in bookings. We'd stay there again, it was a great experience.
