  Great Boutique Hotel Downtown Waukesha

  The Clarke was a great find in the heart of charming Waukesha. Such a nice break from the ordinary business trip hotel. Also terrific Irish bar on main level where David will expertly guide you through their Irish whiskey flights! Have dinner around the corner at Toftes Table. Order the scallops. Best ever.

  Enjoyed our stay

  My husband and I stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights. We stayed in the point room. It was a very large room with lots of windows overlooking downtown. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel itself was very quiet and didn't hear any other guests. We were there during the weekend and could hear the outside noises of people waking and yelling as going from bar to bar. It is a convenient location for bars, wine bars and restaurants.

  A nice and interesting place to stay. We will likely stay again.

  My wife and I spent just one February night at the Clarke. The downtown location makes parking a challenge, but The Clarke has taken steps to make parking as easy as possible given the very limited space. There are 30 minute parking places at the front door and one of them is typically open. Clear and easy directions were provided to a nearby parking ramp. Along with a parking pass to come and go as you want. There are many bars in the area and with our room overlooking main street, things got very noisy between 12 and 2. My wife just got up and sat in the window sill and watched the festivities outside. Music from across the street was easily heard in our room. We did find broken glass in the room that had not been properly cleaned up. There were also quite a few hairs on the bathroom floor. Cleanliness is not bad, but could be improved. The multi head shower is nice. A nice touch to set The Clarke apart. There is a small fridge and a single serve coffee maker in the room and a microwave in the common area down the hall. There was only one serving each of regular and decaf coffee and no tea. If you like to have a couple cups of coffee in your room (or perhaps each person would like a cup of coffee), bring some of your own. The continental breakfast was adequate. Items were individually wrapped which I thought was nice. The furnishings were nice and in good condition. Overall we were pleased and will likely stay again.

  Best Showers Anywhere!

  This was our second stay at the Clarke. Great location and good sized rooms with recliner. Bathrooms are good sized and large shower with multiple heads! Bed is very comfortable. But on both visits experienced difficulties in managing temperature. They evidently have it set to go down to 65 - heat it air conditioning- after so many hours so froze both mornings! Also experienced Smokey smelling room which wasnt pleasant. Continental breakfast skipped both times as good not visually appealing. Nice to have bar attached but not surprised its empty with prices they charge. Cannot beat the location for downtown dining!

  Very noisy outside

  I stayed over a weekend and the nightlife in downtown Waukesha goes late into the night and you can clearly hear it right out of the window if youre on the main st side especially. Not their fault, but makes it hard to sleep. The doors slam loudly in the halls too. Beds and seating in the room were very comfortable. The bathroom was huge in the king suite. Kurig machine and mini fridge in room.
