    As good as it gets.....

Been a while since Ive written one of these but without doubt The Capaldi is absolutely one of my favourite hotels of all time. It ticks all the boxes location: easy to get to from UK, 40 mins from Marrakesh. There are the foothills of the Atlas Mountains to the South with Lak Takkerkhoust only 3km away (ok - theres been a drought so its somewhat arid but thats not the norm) and a Berber village just to the West with the dunes of the desert beyond making ot a great location for walking and getting away from it all. Nestled between the mountains and the desert lies the solitude of The Capaldi and what a wonderful retreat it is. A boutique hotel with acres of space the hotel was nearly full when we were there, but you would never have known. There are more places to relax and hang out than we could count both indoor and outdoor, theres simply no chance that youll feel like someone is in your space. Edward and Tara are the perfect hosts they make everyone feel special and individual whilst ensuring that every guest is treated with the same care and attention by all the staff, whom we could not fault in anyway, fabulous. Food well, nothing over the top, simple but sophisticated with a really clever balance to suit all tastes and diets. Different every night with a combination of fish, meat, vegetarian, locally sourced food I could have eaten every course that was on offer over the 4 nights superb. And breakfast and lunch were in a similar vein good ingredients, done well. As for the rooms wonderful, simple but stylish décor with quality beds and linen. I cant fault this place, it clearly has a large cohort of repeat customers and that probably says it all, well be back.

Still the very best West of Marrakech

It was my fifth time vacationing at the Capaldi, and as ever, it truly felt as if I was merely going back to visit old friends. The weather was amazing, ( in the middle of February, something I was not ready for !) and so I was happy to take naps in the luxurious gardens, enjoy the occasional dip in one of the pools, recharge, and explore the mountains nearby, which I had never done before. Away from the craziness of Marrakech, it was so good to be back in that oasis. The food remains as inventive, gorgeous and well-portioned as always. Also something I had never done before, I went to the spa and tried the hammam followed by one of the best massage I ever treated myself to. The hamamm was a fantastic experience, which I absolutely recommend. But really, nothing quite prepares you for the kindness of the staff. This holiday, I came to the Capaldi with my 87 year old father, a Korean war veteran who enjoyed Morocco for the first time. Alas, on the second night, as he was walking back to his suite, he lost his glass eye somewhere within the grounds, and Ed and Tara, the owners, swiftly organized a search party to help us out. It was so heartening to see most of the present staff arduously looking everywhere with their individual torch lights for hours, I shall always be so grateful to them and never forget that sight ! Sadly, at dawn, when we realized that the night watchman's cat had probably destroyed my father's glass eye while toying with it, Ed was kind enough to drive us to Marrakech for my father to find an adequate emergency eye patch. They really all got out of their way to help us out, thus calming my poor father's anxiety. They are just such stars, and needless to say, we will be back next year !

A must visit Hotel if you go to Marrakesh

In entering the Capaldi you certainly have a wow this is nice Hotel comment as you enter the grounds all very grand and lush. A welcome drink was eagerly accepted and the very helpful Hotel staff explained where everything was and what amenities you had at your disposal. All very exciting!! The grounds could be compared to a Hotel in Dubai - 5 star ! We had the Atlas mountain view room, cant recommend this view to wake up and go to bed seeing that mountain range is incredibly impressive every day a sight that we could get used to. The room is what you expect extremely luxurious and very comfortable. Food - was good, loved their evening meals good food and drinks menu you wont go hungry thats for sure. Amenities - Gym small and has enough for a work out dont expect you will get like Arnie but you will burn a few calories, badminton, 2 good clean pools. The cinema room is an absolute must, we booked it after dinner had the whole place to ourselves, the resort had a very good range of films so you will find some gem if you need to waste a couple of hours. The spa is a must - good hamnan and great massage throughly recommend to anyone visiting. Walks - a 40 minute walk (very easy to get to, one dirt road) from the hotel you will find a selection of great restaurants next to a lake, all very pleasant to watch the world pass by eating very good Moroccan food. One very very special mention to the Edward the owner of this Hotel. A true gentleman, incredibly helpful, polite, wants to make sure you have what it takes to make you stay truly memorable. Edward when that extra mile to help us get home before the Morrocans closed their air space due to the Corona virus, March 15th 2020 we were one of the lucky ones to get out only due to Edwards quick thinking and being helpful. Top marks and we will be back... Thank you...

    Beautiful Mountain oasis!

We enjoyed an exceptional stay at the Capaldi, the owners are warm and welcoming, the food is lovely and the rooms are beautifully appointed. There is a deeply restful atmosphere and beautiful gardens to enjoy as well as lots of local activities, we went on a half-day tour of the Atlas mountain foothills with a local guide called Noureddine and I cannot recommend it highly enough, a real highlight!

    Laid back chic

This is the perfect respite after a visit to Marrakech. Set in beautiful gardens overlooked by the Atlas mountains. A choice of pools and quiet corners, allow as much relaxation as you would want. The staff and management are delightful, attentive but respectful of your privacy, the hotel was full when we were there, but because of the layout it never felt crowded. The food was fantastic, choice of wines good, without being silly on price, good excursions arranged if you want to be active. Our long trek up into the hills with the lovely Latifa was definitely a highlight.
